We were on our way from Salzburg to Venice and needed a place to stay for one night between the two locations. We chose Hotel Olimpia because of its location in Cortina d'Ampezzo, a breathtakingly gorgeous mountain town, and price. Parking was free and a snap as the lot was right next to the hotel. There's a long flight of stairs to get to the front door, so if you're elderly or not in the best shape, beware. If this isn't a concern, then it is fine for a night or two, although I must say that the room we were given was tiny and could have used some TLC. For instance, a lamp shade was tattered and needed replacement, the walls were in need of paint and repair and the towel heater was quite dusty. We did enjoy the included breakfast, however, and staff members were friendly and helpful. Most restaurants were closed the evening of our arrival, but there was one within walking distance that the hotel owns. The food and service were both good. We also appreciated a man in the downtown area who helped us find the hotel because it's a bit off the beaten path. Thank you, AARP-Expedia and Hotel Olimpia, for the chance to give my feedback.
