We just loved this beautiful villa/hotel, very charming and clean. We wished we could have stayed longer. Perhaps next year we will! The breakfast was also a nice surprise with fresh baked goods and plenty of options.

We loved this hotel! It is just outside of the quaint town of Castellina in Chianti, and we used it as a home base for visiting the wonderful towns of Tuscany. The staff was friendly and helpful, especially Erica! We stayed 3 nights and we loved everything about the boutique hotel!

Was on the off chance I can across the hotels and absolutely delighted I did. Was an easy location to find coming off the Autostrada to Siena. Idyllic setting with beautiful buildings and easy parking. Checking in was a breeze due to the staff and before I knew it I was set up in my room. Unlike anything I’ve stayed in before but never the less simply wonderful. Room and bathroom clean and wellcoming. Good AC if you need but you can open up the windows when there’s a nice breeeze blowing, Pool and area were perfect, laid out nicely with a privacy feel to it and a great sun spot. And my absolutely favourite part was the breakfasts and sitting area. Simply brilliant. No better place to be to start your day that to be sat in the morning sun in total calm eating a wonderful breakfast, Staff were superb too, every single one.

The owners and staff were outstanding from Check in to checkout. I am a solo traveller and needed help with tours and suggestions and before I even asked, they were providing me with information, setting me up with wine tastings and making dinner reservations for me. The room was very cute, incredibly clean and all staff was so friendly. I will stay here again and I will tell my family and friends to stay here as well!!! A well run business!!

We very much enjoyed our stay at Hotel Colle Entrusco Salivolpi. The property was beautiful, quiet and relaxing. Our room was nicely decorated, good size and very clean. Staff was amazing and attentive. They arranged a wine tasting of their wines at a local shop in town too! . Breakfast were delicious.We loved the location. It was very convenient to walk to dinner and safe.

I love the location of this hotel and the staff was beyond friendly and welcoming. I would highly recommend this place to family and friends traveling through the area. I might have to book a weekend stay in the summer to take advantage fo the gorgeous grounds and large pool

Nice hotel, however can be a bit noisy
Overall a nice hotel, however it can be quite noisy in the garden/ pool area as it is right next to the main road.

Little gem in Castellina di Chianti
My husband and I had a wonderful time in Castellina and the Salivolpi hotel was beyond our expectations. Staff was friendly and helpful with day trip suggestions. Breakfast area was nice to sit and relax in the morning. Location was perfect to walk to historic center for dinner and to drive around Chianti. I’m glad we chose Castellina for our stay.

The property was rustic, clean and comfortable. The staff were helpful and friendly, the bathroom was always well stocked with toiletries which was really good and does not always happen even in the more expensive hotels. The only negative for me was that breakfast was not included and it would have been good if it had. We chose not to partake and had fruit or yogurt in our room. Would recommend as easy to walk to lots of restaurants and main town. This our third time in this area as it is central to so many places and the local restaurants are so so good. Will be back .....

Relaxing and quiet.
The whole stay was very pleasant. Parking was convenient, the room clean. The pool area was beautiful with wine or beer available for purchase. It was just a short walk into town where there are good restaurants, bars, and shops.

Superb 5 star place and 5 star service
We absolutely loved our stay at Hotel Etrusco Salivolpi. The location was perfect for walking into town, right across from a vineyard. It was a beautiful setting where we enjoyed evenings in the garden with wine and cheese. The pool area is very relaxing. Breakfast had lots of choice and was delicious. What made our stay extra special was the staff, especially Christina at the reception desk. We feel like we have a new friend... so enjoyable to talk to her and most helpful. Our room was large and very comfortable. When we are in Tuscany again we will definitely stay here again and will recommend it to our friends and family.

CASTELLINA IN CHIANTI - While visiting the beautiful country side in Castellina, we attended a dinner recommended by the Hotel Colle Etrusco Salivolpi that we were staying at. Little did we know that we were sitting with a couple of vitners, doctors, producers and entrepreneurs. The following day there was a new receptionist at the front desk of the hotel, as we greeted her... She said she knew us. To our surprise we made the cover page of the local paper and in inadvertently became of local notability. We decided to visit a vineyard on our last day in Chianti. After a long drive on a beautiful scenic dirt road, we arrived at the vineyard... We thought that the vineyard may have been closed as there was no one around. As we were getting ready to leave, the owner pulled up to us in his car and was pleasantly surprised to see us... He immediately invited us for a private tour of his vineyard. As we were getting ready to leave, he invited us to a private wine tasting dinner. We learned intriguing things about wine and people... This just shows you that there is a reason for everything in life.

Excellent hotel! The rooms are so nice. We had a room in the main building facing the road, but you couldn't event tell it was there. It was like sleeping in the vineyard! The garden/lawn area is very well kept and it wad so nice to enjoy a glass of wine there in the evening. Close to town and other towns too. We'd love to stay here again.

Hidden gem in the heart of Tuscany.
We had an amazing experience during our stay at the Salivolpi hotel. The staff are friendlier than you can imagine, making you feel right at home. They welcomed us and provided us with all of the information on booking our wine tours, restaurant reservations, etc. The rooms were clean and spacious. The breakfast was great, and the pool was perfect! This was definitely one of the highlights of our 3 week Italian vacation. They even sent us off with a very good bottle of wine!!

This is the sort of experience one would expect of staying in a country villa in the wine valley. Run like a hotel it has a great lodge and family style feel. recommended for couples or families also as the grounds are spacious and it has a pool for summer.

Perfect place to stay in the Tuscany countryside.
This was my second visit to Hotel Colle Etrusco Salivolpi, which is ideally located in the heart of the wine region. If you are looking for a place to stay with a country inn feel, this is the spot. The multilingual staff is extremely helpful in providing local recommendations and attending to the guest's needs.

A lovely property, and an easy walk to the Castellina in Chianti village. The staff was excellent and responsive, breakfast was plentiful and delicious. The shower had amazing water pressure! We didn't take advantage of all the resources they had to offer, unfortunately we stayed during some bad weather. But it was a good place, since we had a car, to have easy access to other villages, wineries and Sienna. I highly recommend this place!

Stayed here after Rome with the intention of taking a cooking class. Very much enjoyed the hotel and the area. My wife and I like walking so strolling the 1 km into the town centre was great. Everyone was friendly and helpful.A nice change from Rome.

this is a beautiful villa-like hotel, in a great location in chianti, but our sty there was seriously affected by one very rude receptionist. besides this one, everyone else on staff was very kind and the hotel - the room, breakfast, grounds, were everything we hoped for in terms of tuscan-rustic and relaxing. This rude receptionist acted annoyed in the extreme to all of our questions, to us wanting to make a winery tour appointment for the following day, for us asking for water from the sink - she just acted very high and mighty and made it very unpleasant for us. she even said things like, when i asked if we could fill our water bottle from the lobby sink, that she "could and should charge us for that but she won't." why did she feel the need to say that? it made the whole thing very unpleasant, and every interaction with her was the same.

A Lovely Hotel in a Great Location
Stayed here in June 2015, we had one of the rooms above the breakfast room, which is in a sepparate building in the garden. Really quiet room, even when other guests are taking breakfast below. Breakfast can also be taken in the garden. The grounds of this old farmhouse are stunning, the pictures of it do not do it justice. The gardens are extreemly well maintained, as is the pool and surrounding area. Although you may find the pool a little colder than you expect for June/July as it is not heated, but really refreshing. The outside bar/terrace is also very nice. The staff are simply the best, extreemly healpfull and able to organise most things for you. Their wine tasting in the town shop is great. The hotel is only a short downhill walk from Castelina in Chianti, which is a beautifull little town. The resturaunt just 70m from the hotel is superb and discount is given. The room was spotless and well maintained. A word or two about the Tuscany mosquito's "What Mosquito's?" Didn't see one and left with zero bites after 5 days. Although my wife was devoured by several other insects, mostly when laying on the grass, or near the pool, but not mosquito's! Great stay here, highly recommended.

This Hotel (B&B) was totally the best. We couldn't believe the cost was so little for such a charming Hotel in the Chianti region. I had originally planned to stay all 3 of our nights in the Chianti here but changed my plans. Next time I will satay here for the whole time. So close to all of the wineries, Siena, and other beautiful sights of this region. You kind of need a car, although Castellina is served by bus from Siena and Florence. The breakfast was $5 extra but so worth it. Great restaurants within walking distance. This was one of the highlights of a 3 week stay in Italy.

Great, relaxing stay in heart of Chianti country
Great stay, very quiet, out in the countryside, very reasonable rate especially compared to rates in Florence or Rome. About 1km (maybe less) from the center of Castellina in Chianti, which has some great restaurants and shops and is not too far from either Florence or Siena. Stayed in an out-building with only one or two other rooms in it. A little tricky to find due to one way roads on the west side of town, and that the hotel sign on the road says just 'Hotel Salivolpi', not the longer name listed at hotels.com.

Really enjoyed our stay here. Location was good, only a short walk in to a lovely town. Nice pool and gardens too. Unfortunately our room was quite noisy - we were woken early by what sounded like furniture being dragged around in the room above.

With a car park and a 5-10 min walk into town, this is a good base. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good but didn't offer the range experienced at other hotels in Tuscany (eg pastries on day one but not on day 2 or 3). The room was described as a superior(?!!) double and whilst it had rustic charm it wasn't very comfortable. We were there in September and the temperature was fine but be aware there is no air-con.

Lovely seaside hotel with excellent food!
I stayed in this hotel with my husband for 2 nights as part of a trip around Tuscany in June. It was in a beautiful location on the seafront and our room had a large balcony with a great view (we paid a little extra for this and it was worth it). The hotel has a lovely pool, but it was a little cold to swim in this early in the summer (June). The breakfast was delicious and included fresh coffee, a continental buffet and eggs and bacon cooked on request. The restaurant served really excellent food - the seafood especially was really delicious. This was not included but is highly recommended. The terrace of the hotel was also a beautiful setting to eat dinner outside with a sea view. The area around the hotel is quiet but nice. The beach is quite rocky and we preferred to sit by the pool. On a rainy day there was not much to do in the local area but with a hire car we were able to easily explore inland and further down the coast.

inspiring gem in tuscany
my wife and i enjoyed our overnight stay. we checked in really late, but the front desk staff waited for us and never got the sense that they were annoyed. they put up with our limited/nonexistent italian, and gave us great recommendations as well as setting us up on a great vineyard tour and tasting. tuscany in general is a beautiful and wonderful place. this quaint hotel made things much more intimate. if we only had more time!
