I dont recommend this hotel. We upgraded our room at in to ocean view once we entered the room there was cigarette burns on the table on the balcony we seen 3 roaches “bugs” we called down to the front desk and they sent housekeeping up and sent a bottle of tequila up and some chocolate. We did not have time to switch room that was not offered and also we had excursions so there was no time. At check out we was accused of smoking in the room they showed is a wine bottle that had ashes in it. That was not our bottle and it was a lie the hotel mgr. Maguel threathed to call the police. We missed our flight because they will not let us leave. We had to purchase another flight and spent money that was usexpected! Terrible experience!

It’s definitely what you are paying for. Get ready for noise and party. I stayed at JW Marriott before and it’s like heaven compare to this place. Very old building, in need of remodeling, staff isn’t as friendly and some barely speak English

We stay often and they are always respectful and courteous. The only problem we encounter is the language barrier with the check in and out sometimes, depending on the person, but that is our fault for not being better with our Spanish after all we are in their country!! I definitely recommend the Krystal not only in Cancun but their other locations as well!

This was a lovely location with clear water and white clean sand and a clean pool at a comfortable temperature. Shaded chairs filled up quickly on the beach and by the pool. Lots of music playing all day at the hotel and down the beach and loads of people, largely families and couples. The breakfast buffet at the Velas was a nice treat for us, and the rest of the time we walked to nearby restaurants or grocery shopped. The rooms were kept clean and the beds were comfortable. My teenage daughter also enjoyed herself but didn’t meet any other kids her age.

If you’re looking for an affordable and clean place to stay this is a good spot but the food and customer service was not up to par. Anytime I needed assistance most of the front line staff were (not rude BUT) not warm/welcoming. It just kind of felt like they were either annoyed or overwhelmed . The food was expensive and BAD! They did have entertainment sometimes by the pool in the afternoon and the beach was really nice. This place would not be considered to return to again unless I absolutely had too. Expedia did have them give me a bottle of tequila w shot glasses so that was a nice touch! But upon check in I was not provided with a map of the property nor was I told about the shops and amenities the hotel had to offer…. I found out on my own by chance.

BE AWARE. Read full story. Hotel overall was OK. As in all Caribbean hotels it was very cold inside in the room. Food also was usual for hotel. But it was not cleaned in a room as it was supposed to. We were asking two times to clean out of three days we stayed there. Also, most importantly they charged us for smoking in the room although we never smoked in it, and informed us about it during check out process. We asked them to come to check out for smell/ash. But they told it was two days ago, so after we paid it they issued us a receipt when cleaning service came and filed a violation, so we found out that it was even before we checked in to the room. So this story full of nonsense. Be careful with them, waiting until we check out to inform us of the charge, doesn’t make them trustworthy

We had a really great time at the resort, and I will definitely return in summer. My son had a blast at the pool. The staff in general were very attentive. There are only 2 things they need to improve: 1) they need to add more people in the guest/check in service desk as there were only 2 employees working when we arrived at the hotel and we had to wait in line for over an hour. 2) we had some discounts and gifts that were supposed to be delivered to our room on the date of arrival or at least the following morning from our travel agency "Expedia" and these were not given to us until 2 days after our arrival as such we were unable to take advantage of the benefits & discounts. It should be noted that we stay only for 3 nights.

Absolutely disappointed. Everything around the facility was great, but in the facility was a completely different story. The staff were nice but it took them over two hours to send someone to my room to look over the defects. The room they sent me to was literally a couple doors over, but they had bed bugs/mites. Unless they do a whole renovation I don’t think I will be going again.

We arrived at 3 AM with two little babies. They sent us up to our room after a 45 minute check in. This hotel does not have a luggage cart like every other hotel. There was a man carrying all our luggage on a little trolley. We get all the way up to the room and there’s no room number. We go all the way down and they tell us there’s another tower. We go up and there’s no room number there. They sent us running around with all of our luggage and kids at 4 AM. We finally got a room. The shower head did not turn on. The room was so dirty, there was even sand in one of the beds. My 2 kids went to sleep in pack n play and my husband and I did not sleep. At 8 AM we packed the kids up and changed hotels. We we’re in that hotel for 4 hours and they wouldn’t give us a refund even though they said they would. The man “Angel” behind the counter was so unpleasant to deal with. Do yourself a favor and never stay here!

Overall experience was poor. At check-in there was a long line which took about 45 minutes. The lobby was hot and had no AC. After a long time of waiting my family went to the bar to ask for water but was denied service because they were not wearing a wristband which indicated they were guest. The room and facility was cleaned daily which was nice. Restaurants were priced at $20 USD buffet for breakfast unless you purchased the $100 USD daily all inclusive wristband for each family member. We drove into town for our meals. Hotel offered free parking which was a plus. What was really bothering was that the door for guest with wheelchairs remained closed at all times. This was a major SAFETY CONCERN. Anyone on a wheelchair had to flag someone down to open the door to enter or leave the hotel. This of course after they finished whatever they were doing. Their excuse was because guest left their luggage on that side of the lobby and to secure it had to lock the door. So it is luggage security over guest safety and access. I will be looking at other hotels that are more wheelchair friendly.

Rating 4 over all because the staff were so kind and accommodating.. it was a little loud as we had a room opposite to the ocean where construction was occurring & the windows were in poor condition. The property is very dated but the common areas are well kept. The rooms not so much. I would stay again if I found a more reasonable price in the shoulder season as I’m not a partier and it was obviously busy over spring break.

Glad we decided to take our chances after reviewing all the negative reviews. We had the best experience. Ocean View Room with balcony was spacious beautiful view of beach. Consierge service was provided for booking thru expedia! Well worth the free perks! Breakfast buffet was delicious. Staff was friendly and helpful. Very clean, great location. Walking distance to ferry, restaurants, bus stops. Has a Safe inside closet!!

A very old, poorly maintained hotel, with the smell of mold in some rooms, not very clean, etc. The first impression, upon arrival, is bad: an arrogant unfriendly person at the reception desk will not greet you but just demand your id. The administration is obsessed with security (possibly, for a good reason), but having to wear a bracelet at all times and show it in multiple locations is not for everybody. The hotel is full of rowdy spring break youngsters, this is why all restaurants and the bar are closed after 10.45 p.m. Still, this doesn't mean somebody next door won't wake you up at 2 a.m. by having a fight or some drunken shout-out. Essentially, you are paying to stay somewhere right at the beach, and the beach is indeed very good! The rest is mediocre at best. Personally, I have no desire to ever go back, it is not worth the price nor the inconvenience.

My first room was molded 1318 and the second room air condition did not work 1201… they tried to give me a 3rd room but I was toooo skeptical it would be a mess as well… I ask for another alternative … complimentary breakfast or a discount or something they told me no. The first room checked into was molded rm 1318. The ceiling had dark spots under the paint which u can clearly see it was mold. Then when u get to the door u can smell the mold coming through the door. Someone came in and inspect and I was immediately give a beach view with a balcony SMH sadly the ac was broke and leaking water… the bathroom ceiling had a crack and it was leaking water too… rm1201. Of course I went down and made a complaint this time nothing was done…. I even ask for a complimentary breakfast or at least some of my money back… it was horrible … it’s spring break so there’s a bunch of young folks running up and down the hallways from 10pm to 5am in the morning.

The beach and ocean are exquisitely beautiful but this property is a catastrophic disappointment in every way. I was actually excited to LEAVE. You pay for and expect a nice all-inclusive experience and instead you feel cheated and deprived. I’ve never left a negative review but I feel obligated to warn others.

Service and stay was great, close to many attractions, walking distance, places to eat and the beach and pool access was excellent! Rooms need a little upgrade but not an issue, would stay again! Highly recommend, pick all inclusive!
