This stunning 'Tree Home' was built to compliment the lush surroundings of the World Heritage rainforest.
Built this way to improve the view, take in prevailing winds and add to the privacy. Also solving the problem of building on steeply sloping sites to sit within the natural environment.
This thoughtfully planned home allows you to sit on a huge verandah amongst the rainforest canopy and take in the stunning views and wildlife, or even pop down to your own private waterfall for a paddle!
Strictly no parties, no events, no late night noise and drinking. This is a quiet family neighbourhood.
Built in 1989 and lovingly restored in recent years, this property couldn't be more harmonious with its natural surroundings. The home sits on huge poles against a small rock face in low land sub tropical rainforest, cascading down towards its own private waterfall.
Inside, the home boasts ample, open plan living space, a huge entertainer's chef kitchen, chic design and a spa in the bathroom.
The spring running through the gardens is the headwaters of Chinamans creek. This creek is spring fed from the mountains above Lake Morris, flowing all year round and snakes its way through Cairns and down to the sea. Spend a bit of time at the creek and you could be lucky to see little Freshwater Yabbies, Guppy Fantails, Rainbow Fish and Penny Turtles.
Relaxing on the third storey verandah, with a perfect view of the rainforest canopy, common butterflies to see would be the Ulyssess, Monarch or Birdwing Species. This vantage point also makes it an awesome getaway for bird watchers with common sightings of the following species:
Yellow Spotted Honey Eater, Little Shrike Thrush, Black Butcherbird, Fairy Gerygone, Black Butcherbird, Spangled Drongo, Helmeted Friarbird, Varied Triller, Brush Turkey, McCleays Honey Eater, Torres Imperial Pidgeon, Woompoo Pidgeon, Little Bronze Cuckoo, Spotted Catbird, Victorias Rifle Bird, Sulphur Crested Cockatoo, Laughing Kookaburra, Orange Footed Scrubfowl, Bar Shouldered Dove, Bazza, Papuan Frogmouth Owl, Forest Kingfisher, Australian Swiftlet.
