We always stay here when we go to the football at Suncorp stadium as it is so close. There are also many options to eat close to the hotel.

Property is very central to cinema and a great strip of bars, cafes and restaurants. Car park a little small, but no doubt there are other options nearby. Room very nice for the price.

The Gambaro is literally the perfect hotel I have ever been to. It is so full of elegance that I had to pinch myself to make sure I remember this is not a dream. My only regret is that I never did get to try their Gambaro restaurants nearby as well. Next time I'm in Brisbane, I will definitely stay there. If I ever got the chance to have a Suite Life of Zack and Cody experience where I got to live in a hotel, it would be the Gambaro and not the Tipton.

The bathroom was terribly designed with the shower recess not draining fast enough. Required so many towels to dry the floor and prevent us from slipping over. Have stayed here a few times before and this wasn’t an issue. Maybe just our room was like that?

I attended Reception at approximately 5:30 p.m. and indicated that I would be visiting a friend in hospital between 6 pm and about 8:30 pm. I did not take my bag to the room. The receptionist was a very charming lady – not just charming, but extremely helpful also. I ordered and paid for my dinner before leaving to visit my friend in the hospital and said that if I’m not back by 8:30 pm, just leave the tray in the room. I got back at about 8:30 pm. I parked my car and took the lift up to my room. I could see that there was no tray, so I was about to go and search for a cafe when a knock came to the door. I opened the door and there was a man with a tray. They had waited for me to come back so that I could have my dinner while it was warm. Outstanding. Unique. Whenever I visit Brisbane, I will try to stay at the Gambaro Hotel.

Glorious views at Gambaro
The location was perfect for us for a function nearby. The room was a great size with a terrific balcony and views. Staff were super attentive and friendly and a berry light free breakfast was provided which was a lovely touch. The only feedback I would like to pass on is the lack of lighting in the bathroom. It was virtually impossible for me to see to put on makeup at night. The toilet paper seemed a cheap one ply which was not consistent with the quality of everything else in the hotel and the water pressure and temp of the water in the shower was not up to standard. These however did not stop us from having a lovely stay and I would not hesitate to book again in the future.

We stayed three nights at Gambaro and checked in late, when the night manager was working. Check-in was quick, but we were given a room with an ambulant/differently-abled bathroom (which we later learned was an upgraded room, but were not given any sort of choice prior to unloading all of our things). The bathroom was nice and spacious with two sinks, but the left one had a leak on the right side, there were only two small lights in the ceiling which left it pretty dark inside (especially when using the curtain around the ambulant shower area), no toilet seat, and the sliding door to the bathroom also had vented slots throughout which means one could see and hear everything inside even with the doors closed. Privacy was not an option. Also, a vanity mirror was mentioned but not found in our room (we checked the various cupboards and closets). The other major issue was the WiFi. We were paying a minimum of $235 per night, and the complimentary WiFi only allowed two devices to connect at a time and the connection was less than 1 mbps. Essentially unusable. There were paid options available for faster speeds, but that shouldn't have been necessary. A bag of breakfast items was provided each morning, though somehow we got switched to Corn Flakes on the second delivery (from the other cereal) and apples on the third. We also got a late checkout the night before leaving, but got a call asking us if we wanted a late checkout 15 minutes after the normal checkout the next day.
