The room I stay in smells soo bad and had 2 kids with me .The towels were left in fridge, the toilet was still dirty.. I ask to exchange to another room and one of the staff says nothing available. It’s more like a one star hotel.

Misleading advertising. While it looks nice from the photos and the street - don't be deceived. This property was old, dated, TV didn't work, lift didn't work, the restaurant, bar and pool have all been closed for years.

Good location - just needs a spruce up.
Location was excellent - just a short (uphill) walk from Central Station so the train from the airport was a great option. The hotel is a little tired and could do with a detailed refurb but was fit for purpose and comfortable. The rooms were quite and the little kitchenette was good.

If it’s FLOODED, forget it.
One word… TERRIBLE. Do NOT stay at this hotel. We had to turn the toilet cistern on and during the course of the night, our room flooded. Not from the toilet, from underfloor pipes. Floorboards (laminated) we’re saturated and lifting. Bathroom, Living / Bedroom were all flooded. No offer of any refund at all. They obviously knew it was like this too. Why else would the cistern have been turned off?? Decor and linen were so old I thought I’d walked back in to a 1970’s grandparent’s home. Whatever you do, DO NOT STAY HERE.

The room I was allocated was nothing like the room described in the photo I referred to when I made my reservation. The toilet had not been cleaned properly for weeks, a live power point was hanging from a wall, the soap and shampoo dispensers had been removed and the room did not have the bedding configuration I paid for.

Although the web site and the room guide say there is eating facilities (brekky and dinner) in fact "the kitchen is closed" (presumably post covid). Fair enough, I get it - but change the web site, and the room guide. The chap who checked me in was exceptional, friendly and helpful. The chap who checked me out had to make an effort to drag himself away from his socials to check me out, and presented as surly and unhappy to be there. My room was OK - clean, reasonable size, decent bed, TV. Did the job, can't complain. Pretty much as expected for the class of accommodation.

The receptionist was not very enthusiasm. The bedding was old and had holes on them. The rubbish bin was not emptied as it was full from the previous occupants rubbish which made me wonder if my room was actually cleaned or not. The price was a bit confusing, when I booked online I was expecting to pay $202 but when I actually went and pay on the site it was $299. The ad was a bit misleading especially when costumer is booking in a hurry and you can’t bother checking thoroughly.

Reception good on arrival but Queen room smelt smokey, website advised only room svailable. This probably a ruse as we didn't meet many people. Not surprising as restaurant and bar unavailable, room service for ironing board took a reminder after an hour and there was only two medium size towels and only one seat at table on balcony. Not recommended

The property is in a great location. So close to central station so easy access to the airport and walking distance to everything I wanted in the city. The room was the biggest I’ve been in that I can remember and the balcony was a brilliant surprise. Only thing that was a little disappointing was the room didn’t feel clean and a lot of the furniture was chipped and damaged

This property is nice and close to the city and transport. The shower is very unsafe. Somebody could slip and fall getting out of the high shower. Not suitable for elderly people. I have stayed at this property on different occasions over several years now and it is getting very run down in the room we were in. It needs a little TLC and repairs. It is sad to see that the restaurant is closed.

Stood at reception for 45 minute's waiting to check in, aircon didnt wirk in room, fridge has a horrible smell, shower head fell off while showering. Place has so much going for it but it needs a good make over and tidy up.

The electricity in half the room didn't work, and I had to report it to the front desk twice before they came to fix it. The phone in the room doesn't work for some reason. The TV screen doesn't work either.

Hallways smelt like you were in an Indian resturaunt. First room that was given had a bathroom repair done but not even cleaned up. Second room that was given was run down and not clean at all. Curtains were filthy like they just came out of a nightclub, broken furniture and bedding/pillows with marks on them, kitchenette missing appliances not to mention dirty cutlery. Clearly trying to save a dollar!

For a Best Western, the property lacked a lot. Aircon in my room was terrible. VERY unclean, curtains needed replacing, bathroom sink was blocked, elevator lights didnt work, no one could tell us where the pool was...just dated and badly maintained/cleaned. Staff appeared nice enough, but for the price we paid...Not again!!

Hotel is looking run-down and in need of upgrades and refurbishment. We had a very basic room for one night. Hallways looked dirty and smelt like curry. Wanted to go for swim but staff member at reception didn’t know if it was open and told us to ask maintenance person. Decided to check out early.
