Awesome property, but unfortunately the restaurant (Empire Dining) that is connected is permanently closed according to Google. Other than, it was a beautiful property and very clean with easy access. Also easy walking distance to surrounding restaurants and cafe's.

Well equipped small room, including coffee machine. All in good condition. Disappointments included comically small wash basin with no space for toothbrushes/paste and other usual bathroom items (eg: shampoo), no platform in shower enclosure for soap etc, very cheap toilet paper requiring doubling of sheets to be usable, no toaster.

We frequent Bright at least twice a yearly, usually with our camper, but sometimes we use a motel and like alternate our choice so this is our first time staying at Velo. Tim was there to assist us with direction and code pad usage etc ... what a beautiful place to stay the room was not overly big but all the room we needed and renovated with the best choose of fixtures and the bathroom was devine, those tiles are stunning, thanks Hotel Velo you will be seeing us again :)

I was there for 10 days but wasn’t told at booking stage that the hotel and restaurant were closed for that period and beyond. So no food, no Bar etc. The Manageress, Marielle, however, was outstanding. She helped and could not be faulted. The younger staff weren’t so good. I’ve rated the overall experience as average, but Marielle as 5 star! Thanks Marielle for “saving the day”

The room was perfect, close to everything and clean. Staff were great with any questions..we so enjoyed our stay while riding the bike trails.They even had a room to lock up our bikes so handy

We were in the 'other' accommodation out the back. Rooms without views, next to the ventilation or refrigeration system for the kitchen. Slightly misleading not to show pictures of the actual accommodation on the outside that is behind the nice period building at the front. Suitable for people on budgets or young families but not what I expected

We are sorry that your expectations were not met whilst staying with us. We certainly do not try to 'mislead' our guests with our accommodation. We do have actual internal pictures of all our rooms on our website. The external pictures are of the front and rear of the main building. We do have three different levels of accommodation here based on budget, family and luxury. These are priced accordingly. We would love for you to return and perhaps book one of our beautiful 'Heritage' rooms, and even dine in our restaurant 'Empire Dining'.

Roomsand location were perfect. It was a bit odd that the kettle was kept outside of the room, and the bike storage was unsigned and difficut to find on arrival as the reception desk is unmanned after hours.

The property is very conveniently located and is quite clean. However, there are a few things worth noting. - The description does say that there is a bar and restaurant, but we were very surprised that our room windows were 3 meters away from the bar deck, where there were parties. Therefore we struggled to sleep till after 11pm. - Wi-Fi is not password protected, and I suspect everyone's in the bar was using it, so us, as the hotel guests, saw no point connecting, as it was extremely slow. - When we entered the room, we found that the ensuite door in the main bedroom was broken and we couldn't open/close it. Which made it quite awkward, as the toilet was 1 meter away from the bed :-) We had to use another one.

I came to Bright for a friend’s birthday … the function was being celebrated at Bright Velo. I was given an upgrade to one of the new refurbished rooms which was very elegant, very comfortable bed, beautiful bathroom, a smart tv. Restaurant and bar facilities were excellent. Highly recommend and would stay here again.

Nicely renovated and situated . The room was surprisingly quiet considering it was in a busy area. The whiskey bar is a beautiful old building with such a cool feel. Would definitely stay again. Oh also the room had a coffee pod machine ! Bonus!

Our time in bright was lovely especially as the leaves were changing colour. Bright velo is currently looking to renovate so can only imagine it will come back better. Roll on end of year so they can celebrate

Stayed in the cheapest basic room in the original hotel building which is soon to be renovated . Clean and tidy , with a good bed. En-suite fine, but shower extremely sensitive. Great location in main street. Will be fabulous when renovated.

I stayed for two nights early March specifically to tackle Mount Buffalo. I’d stayed here in 2013. It has new owners now - Tim and his wife. All the great cycling expectations are still there - great local knowledge, happy to talk cycling, great start off points for Buffalo and Hotham. I stayed in a newly renovated room and I really liked the warm wood touches. Very comfy beds, clean and I felt no issues or fear walking around in my cycling gear on the floors. Great shower after Buffalo (I needed it) and the coffee with a lavazza machine was so good when not everything was open around Bright for breakfast. Wouldn’t hesitate to stay again or recommend.

Beautiful Bright and wonderful Bright Velo.
A very pleasant and comfortable stay at Bright Velo. So very well positioned right in town and able to walk to everything. We had a wonderful surprise upon our arrival when we found out we were up graded from a standard room to a 2 bedroom apartment for our 4 night stay. So very thoughtful of Tim, the owner/manager. Thank you Tim. He has great plans for Bright Velo and our apartment had been renovated and was very comfortable. No hesitation in recommending Bright Velo as a great place to stay.

We loved our stay at Bright Velo - Tim the owner was lovely and very accommodating. Location is fantastic and the apartment itself was great. All newly renovated except for the bathroom but we were aware they are in the process of renovations so this was fine and I think it is also reflected in the very reasonable price. We will definitely be back.
