- Disliked: Staff & service, room comfort
The price tells the story. It's a "No frills".
General area easy to find but finding the hotel difficult for taxi. About 40 mins from main airport.

Located in Beijing's Haidian neighbourhood, Beijing Meiyuan Hotel is in the city centre and near a metro station. Forbidden City and The Palace Museum are cultural highlights, and some of the area's notable landmarks include Wangfujing Street and Yonghe Temple. Check out an event or a game at Beijing National Stadium, and consider making time for Summer Palace, a top attraction not to be missed.

Front desk staff spoke very minimal English, but tried. The room was ok size however house keeping could use some pointers on how to keep a room clean. There were sunflower seeds on the floor when we arrived and still there 6 days later. There was noticeable mold on the wall near the front door, the whole hotel could use a fresh coat of paint. The name on the front of the hotel didn't say Beijing Meiyuan Hotel at all. It was called Golden Inns. Plus google and expedia pined it in the wrong location. Not far off but left us going in circles for a while. Keep walking pass the Shangyuan hotel ( according to google it was behind this hotel) and pass the university (expedia said it was next to the university) after the street turns to your right you have to go left on a cross street. Its across from the aquarium zoo and over pass.
Pros: Location to metro and grocery store about 15 min walk away.
Cons: Train the house keeping to do a better job. The complementary water jugs had algae in them. Over face lift of the rooms much needed.
Location: Beijing zoo and aquarium is across the street but read some reviews on the zoo and opted not to go.
