Such a lovely boutique hotel in a great area of Barcelona. The staff was wonderful. The rooms are small but that's to be expected in this kind of hotel. We had a great balcony and slept with the door open most nights. The breeze was glorious! Would definitely stay here again. Walkable to lots of tourist sites, but just enough blocks away from them that the square itself was beautifully peaceful, with several great cafes nearby.

Lovely hotel very convenient location staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfasts were fabulous and very well priced rooms comfortable we had a balcony room which was lovely. Rooftop terrace and pool lovely and honest bar. Would definitely recommend

This was my first time staying at Room Mate Gerard. It won't be my last. The area was walkable, wonderful restaurants and cafes. The staff at Room Mate Gerard were great. The breakfast amazing.I wish I could name everybody. My room was spacious, clean and quiet. Thank you all who made our stay such a memorable one!

Communal areas and room were clean. lady on the reception desk was polite on check in and gave us some helpful pointers. Located in a good area that is quiet but has some good restaurants close by and isn’t far from the airport shuttle bus if needed

Great location, wonderful hotel!
Very helpful and attentive staff - they're so nice. Centrally located hotel in a very safe and nice part of Barcelona. Everything is within reasonable walking distance such as Las Ramblas, the Gothic Quarter, El Born, etc. and close to the metro to make it easier to get to other places that are 20 min (walking) away. I will always stay here when visiting Barcelona.

A nice place to stay, which allowed my wife and I to easily get everywhere we needed to. All the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Rooms were a fair size, clean and well looked after. Breakfast did the job and the honesty bar and roof terrace was a nice touch. Thanks again!

The little things matter
We found that despite the warm welcome we received from the reception team on checking in and the excellent location of the hotel, our stay was marred by a disappointing room. It was a collection of little things that caught our ire - no window to the outside, no hand towel rack, no iron, lack of temperature control in the shower, etc. We didn't follow up with the hotel given the shortness of our stay to be fair but nevertheless, these points did leave a sour note on our trip to the beautiful city.

The hotel and location was excellent for our needs. Many of the main sights are only a short walk away (~15mins) but it is far enough from the busiest areas to be quiet at night. Breakfast had a good selection and set us up for the day. We had a standard balcony room which was a perfectly sufficient size with a small table and chair, kettle and mini-bar fridge with enough free space to keep your own bottled drinks in. There are plenty of cafe's and places to eat nearby (although be aware many places don't serve food until later in the evening). The hotel is also close to supermarkets, other shops and bus stops, including the aerobus stop (~10mins away) so getting from/to the airport is almost door to door. Would definitely stay again.

Good news is that the shower was good and one of the staff at the front desk was helpful. Other than that I have nothing else to say that was nice....this is a two star, two and a half star hotel at best.

Short walk to numerous sights or various modes of transport. Majority of staff friendly, welcoming and helpful. There are a few reception staff who don’t acknowledge you unless you make a point of speaking to them. There were a couple who stood out, one was the lady who checked us in (10pm on 23rd June). She also recommended an excellent restaurant and the other lady helped us get to the hospital (26th am) and also arrange our taxi back to the airport (27th am). Both an asset to the hotel - sorry I didn’t get your names.

Amazing hotel and friendly staff
I love the Room Mate brand, I have used them before and will continue to book these hotels in any city I travel that have a property. Hotels are modern, the staff is extremely friendly and the properties are centrally located. Xavi at the reception was great and let me use his European converter for the entire stay( I forgot mine at home) and they were going for $35 at the airport. Lady at the front is a bit creepy, I thought it was a real person doing yoga for a second, lol. Thanks again. I loved Barcelona and Room Mate Gerard, and will definitely go back soon!

Hotel was nicely located, outside the tourist trap but close enough to everything. Staff were lovely and the vibe was also good. The room was small, we had a balcony which was nice - without this my rating would be less. We were located on the 5th floor next to the cleaning cupboard which was loud every morning. Additionally next door building had builders which some days started drilling before 8. You could also hear other guests move furniture around the room. Therefore overall the noise levels were quite high. The bed was really comfy. And bathroom looked lovely. However the controls for the shower were complicated and temperamental. The hotel bar is self/service which killed the atmosphere. Overall it wasn’t a bad stay, but I wouldn’t stay again.

Good location, OK service
Comfortable hotel on a quiet and peaceful street within walking distance of many sights. Service and staff were OK - met basic standards but didn’t go out of the way. Small quibble…Disappointed that the hotel seems to pride itself on being eco friendly, yet the rooms do not have recycling bins. Also, I hung up my towel (as requested) so it could be reused but the cleaning staff replaced it anyway each time.

This is the best hotel in Barcelona!!!!!! My wife and I were celebrating our anniversary and we stay for five days, if we go back to Barcelona we will definitely stay again in this hotel. The staff was friendly , the breakfast was so good, the rooms were amazing and the area were the hotel is located is walking distance to the “arco del triunfo” for it was a great area in Barcelona. Don’t even think about it “Book this hotel”
