Lots of issues with this place. 1. Cars can’t access the property. You have to walk up a LOT of stairs with your bags in 35deg. When we got there they said “call us next time, we’ll help”. How about you tell us that before? Terrible communication. Anyone with any disability or even just can’t slog up 40 stairs in 35 deg can’t stay here. 2. In our 4 days there the wifi worked ONE day, intermittently. When we went to ask one day they said “oh it’s out all day, we know that maybe tomorrow” So they knew and didn’t bother to inform us. Again, comms suck. 3. “Restaurant” was closed first 2 days, then the food was awful. 4. They have a golf buggy to take you to a taxi area. They are always late and some of the drivers won’t even go up the ramp -just more slogging in 35deg 5. The villa had a small lounge area but it was open to the environment. So, as a family we could sit in our individual rooms or we could sit in the mosquito ridden lounge. With no tv (wifi based) and one small couch. To be fair, it was quiet and having our own pool was great. They can fix these issues but we won’t stay there again or recommend

Return visit and now missing Ubud heaven already
This was a return visit. I managed to get the same villa as the last time. The staff here simply are awesome, they cannot do enough to help you. The surroundings are serene and tranquil. The services from laundry to buggy drop are fantastic. Great selection of breakfast options and food during day. 15 min walk to central Ubud. Perfect home from home. See you next April guys. Hugely overpriced. Don't pay more than $70 for this place. VERY rustic, no place to sit in "living area". Construction going on around the villas.

An amazing experience
Loved the one bedroom pool villa. We requested the villa which had the most privacy and we were happy with what we received (muslim couple). Pool was surprisingly large and the food at the restaurant was very nice. With the complementary breakfast there are a range of options to choose from as well as choice of juice, fruit and tea/coffee. The floating breakfast in the pool was a unique and enjoyable experience. Other services available were room service style spa, laundry and free buggy service. We really enjoyed our honeymoon welcome the entirety of the stay. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. As you are in Ubud there are a lot of insects and harmless gecko’s. There is a net around the bed to protect against mosquitos.

Lovely traditional villa, very clean although the garden area could do with more regular pruning/mowing. There was supposed to be a small rice field next to my pool however it was overgrown with weeds and not very nice to look at. The main building which housed the restaurant was nice and open air, although I suggest they play relaxing acoustic music to make it more inviting for guests. The fountains beside the restaurant area are extremely noisy so not good if you want to lounge out and read or relax. Also, they could do with a good barista and coffee machine. Their coffee is pretty ordinary. I tended to go down the road to a fabulous coffee shop and spent a lot of time relaxing and just chilling at Kopi Desa. But these are only minor things. All in all a very nice place to stay with lovely friendly staff. It is out of the way so a scooter is a must, but that also means it is nice and peaceful with no traffic noise and it is a nice leisurely walk to the main Ubud area.

The staff are awesome and make every effort to help you enjoy your stay. Love having a private garden and pool. The amenities are good. My husband and I have stayed here three times now and love coming back. The only thing that could improve the stay would be new towels (the towels are well worn and need replacing) and some more cooking utensils. Although the villas have small kitchens, the utensils are minimal so cooking isn't really an option.

Over all it was great, private pool is just awesome, kitchen and living area too. Bathroom could deserve more attention, there is room for improvement in served food. Location fine if you have your own transport, if not it gets a bit more complicated but still ok. Unfortunately, just next to the property the neighbours are building a taller hotel which ruins the view and privacy.

They didn't do a proper house keeping and left the rubbish flow on the pool. Didn't tidy up the toilet and refill the soap for us. When we ask them, they said already complete their house keeping..... Overall is bad experience

Spacious, quiet and friendly- walk anywhere
We stayed in Seminyak for a week and then moved to Ubud and absolutely loved this place. We arrived and were treated with great politeness, they helped us check in speedily and took our bags to our villa. Villa was huge in a great plot of land with approx 8m x 3m pool. There is an outdoor kitchen with basic needs including kitchen wear, stove, fridge with freezer and a drink machine for cold, cool and boiling water so excellent.... Bed was large and comfortable, I thought hard at first but slept very well all week. There is a side sliding door that goes to the kitchen and double front doors that open to a large patio area with comfortable sun beds and all you need including pool towels, separate seating area and drying rack. Bathroom is behind the bedroom and very spacious with large wardrobe, bath and shower head, separate walk in shower and toilet with large sink and storage area. The food and drinks were also great as we ate here as well as out of the complex. The whole experience here wa like paradise and was quaint, quiet,welcoming and had everything we needed in our stay. The area can be a little awkward for people with less than full mobility. There are 97 large and uneven steps called pines tanner stairs to one side of the property and a long lane with only foot or moped access and no cars. This was actually the reason we booked it and we loved it. Lots of shops, restaurants, art, culture all within walking distance. Happy to stay again.

It was good
The villa was lovely, very beautiful and the pool was glorious. The bed was a little hard, my room was very clean but my bathroom walls were covered with ants. My air conditioner kept making loud noises all night. The food was delicious but we were told upon check in we get free delivery breakfast but when we called for it someone else told us if we want it delivered there is an extra charge. I do think they need to work on communication with customers better. How to get to the villa was not explained (they are really far from streets and you should call them to come pick you up from the main street by golf cart) and they seemed to stare at us judgingly and asked why we didn't call ... we didn't know this AND we are on vacation from another country we do not have functioning phones. I just do not like how things were done. it was not terrible, I enjoyed my time in Ubud, I was just caught off guard by how some things were not handled professionally.

My kids loved the pool, but that was probably the only nice thing about this villa. This place is not reachable by car. You have to either walk or sit on the back of a motorcycle for about 500 meter. The breakfast was the worst we had on this vacation. Don't even consider eating there for lunch or dinner. The towels felt coarse and hard. The heater on water dispenser did not work and they asked us to use a pot, not a kettle, a large pot to boil water. Lots of bugs and mosquitos. I do not recommend this place.

The path leading to the villa is not distinct with less than obvious signage, and the path is very dark. Villa beginning to "age" but not too big an issue yet. Staffs were friendly and helpful. Musky smell in the bathroom even after airing. Overall, no complains but will wanna try other accommodation when I'm back there.

Peaceful & spotless oasis in Ubud
Our villa at Ubud Heaven Penestanan was incredible--a spotless, spacious and well air-conditioned bedroom and bathroom in one building plus an open-air covered kitchen area (quite well equipped with sink, stove, microwave, frig, pans, utensils, dishes, bottled water, etc.) in a lovely private garden with its own pool. The neighborhood is peaceful and quiet--motorcycles come by, but no cars. This was a perfect place to come back to mid-afternoon to recuperate from the heat and humidity before going out again in the cool of the evening for performances of traditional music and dance. The included breakfast had lots of options, both Asian and Western, and we liked everything we tried over the 4 days we spent there. We only ate one other meal there, which was OK, but nothing amazing. It's a bit of a hike into the center of town (20-25 minutes), but if you prefer to go by car, there are generally taxi drivers hanging out at the foot of the almost 100 stairs that lead up to the eastern edge of the area. It's a longer walk in from the western side, but with fewer steps. The staff members we interacted with were uniformly helpful and friendly--great service! We would definitely stay here again.

Hotel is in a quiet location and great place for relaxation. It is within walking distance to Ubud market. The villas are pretty basic and towels old and worn, some felt even dirty. Pool was clean and nice size. The staff is very young and unprofessional. I think it lacks proper management. There is a lot of staff and they used to hang around in groups with nothing to do and were often loud. When I wanted to enjoy a quiet breakfast, there was every morning a group of 18 year old boys hanging around like teenagers do, not what you want from you Ubud holiday. One afternoon the boys were giving the next door villa a bigger cleanup (after some renovation works the previous day) and I had to go and ask them to keep it down, they were really loud. Every morning they also forgot something from the order. The breakfast was good, service slow and unprofessional. On the last day one of the staff member came to our room just as we were backing (10.30am) and was quite rude. Even made fun of our empty beer bottles and suggested that we are quite the drinkers. He carried our smallest hand luggage to the reception and then demanded our rooms keys and pointed to reception and said 'go pay'. I had already paid the bill after breakfast. When we left he drove after us with a scooter and yelled something to our driver. I am never going back to this place.

This hotel was beautiful and a bit out of the city center (which could be tricky) but there are shortcuts to alchemy and a good yoga studio near by so would stay there again. The service was amazing but wifi was not very good. Always had to resign in and needed a new password each day.

My partner and I stayed six nights in a one bedroom villa with its own pool and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The villa itself was fantastic, and the service was great. They have a really lovely spot for breakfast (which is included in the price). Our villa was lovely and private, which was great for the two of us trying to have a relaxing break, but there were plenty of families staying as well so I think pretty much anyone would enjoy staying here. The service was great with staff arranging airport pickup and drop-off (maybe a tiny bit more expensive than organising a taxi, but the convenience was worth it) and we were able to get a massage at our own villa (again, very reasonably priced). Although the villa offered a number of different tours, we were interested in one that they did not have available. They went to the effort of finding another company that suited us and called to arrange everything for us - very impressed!

Ubud heaven is a very comfortable hotel. We had a spacious two bedroom villa. The location is wonderful within walking distance to everything. Our villa was just off the road so it was a bit noisy. The staff is very helpful but all have very limited English so it takes awhile to check in/check out and do anything else that may require hotel assistance. All in all this is a great value for the money.

Great space up out if the bustle of Ubud
Great property and great value, excellent friendly staff. Made our first week in Bali very special and love the Villas. Be aware if coming from airport they need to know you are coming because the taxi can not go right to the door. They will come get you in a golf cart from the road, stairs make it impossible for drivers to drop you door to door. Trust us this is a great spot but make sure your driver knows it's in Pennestanan. We found out at 130am the hard way that ours did not.

Awesome way to land in Bali!
For our first stop in Bali we couldn't have chosen better. The staff was incredible and very resourcefull - the airport lost our luggages - and the staff got them back for us. Highly recommend this place!

Quiet place in a busy town
Stayed at the Ubud Heaven Penastan with my parents a girlfriend. The value for money was unbeatable, the area is great away from the hustle and bustle of what has become a very busy tourist town over the last 10 years. The stairs to the hotel cut down on traffic and are a blessing keeping that little section of town quiet.ntown is within walking distance, there are warungs and massage places close by... All in all it is a good place and I would recommend staying there.

Deeply appreciated spot of peace in Ubud
I really enjoyed my stay at this tranquil, friendly place. Service was always friendly and considerate, the breakfasts were pretty good (I got the Indonesian both days), and the villas are spacious enough to really relax, particularly by the pool, which is a nice size and temperature. Motorbikes, dogs, and roosters are a bit ubiquitous in Ubud, but it is a real pleasure to get away from the car traffic! My top suggestions are to walk to the market (about 2km), if only to enjoy the relatively peaceful and wonderful walk along the ridge to Karsa Kafe and some lovely rice terraces. I would also recommend joining the throng and renting a motorbike. Renting direct from the hotel was only 80000 Rupiah for the whole day.

We loved the Ubud Heaven. Our teenagers loved it too! Great breakfast & there are very good restaurants close by. Pool was lovely & the villa very private. The staff were very helpful & will arrange to carry your bags up or down the steps if needed. Great value for money - you can base yourself there & travel to other locations. Some fly screens in the bathrooms would be a good addition.
