"Great basic no frills base"
I was at a conference at the new ICC at Darling Harbour. Kirk on Harris was perfect for what I wanted. Very short walking distance, safe walking back early evening, Coles (supermarket) one street away to stock the hotel room fridge, resltraunts near be, and cafes vlise for morning coffee. Very basic no frills but perfect for a place as a base and to sleep. I'll definately be back.

"Good location"
Room was fine and shared bathroom was clean and adequate. Had separate shower. Close to Darling Harbor. Internet went down and no one there to fix for a day.

"Stay in downtown Sydney"
Overall pretty good hotel, nothing fancy at all. Small rooms, really small shower, no A/C, but it was very clean, and the staff were super nice. They lent me an umbrella when I went out in the rain. It was pretty quiet when I was there, minus someone's dog who lived nearby. Really close to transit, short (20 minute) walk to darling harbour. If you're looking for something not too expensive, but nicer than a hostel, it's good, but don't be expecting anything fancy.

"Old Irish Bar Hotel in Sydney"
This hotel is one of the oldest bar-restaurant hotels in a wonderful neighborhood in Sydney called "the Rocks" This is where the action is in Sydney, at a Ferry and Cruise Ship Terminal. Lots of good shops and restaurants and very scenic for walking around. The hotel is very old and rooms are not fancy, strictly utilitarian, not a good place for people looking for luxury accommodations, but the price is right for the thrifty minded and the location cannot be beat. Young people would especially enjoy this place, great atmosphere in the bar, outdoor dining available, breakfast comes with the room. Not all cruise ships use this port, so check before you book. Our ship port was a $60.00 cab fare away but there were no hotels around this port anyway and it was a fun place to stay.

ibis budget Sydney Airport - Mascot Hotels

ibis budget Sydney Airport

5 Ross Smith Avenue, Mascot - Map
"Value accomodation but tiny rooms"
Firstly be aware that there are two Ibis hotels in Mascot - this is the budget Ibis which is about a kilometre from the Ibis Mascot which is a more up market hotel and the one that we thought that we had booked We met other travellers who had made the same mistake Wi-Fi and facilities are fine staff are excellent but be aware that this is indeed a budget room and with suitcases if travelling can be a bit of a squeeze in the small rooms There is no bar or restaurant at this hotel
