One of the greenest hotels in Manhattan has opened its doors to Australian travelers visiting the Big Apple.
The Element New York Times Square West has 411 rooms and seven suites, a fitness center, a free breakfast buffet and some of the most environmentally friendly amenities found in the city.
Speaking for the hotel, Brian McGuinness, senior vice president, specialty select brands for Starwood Hotels said, "we are thrilled to bring the Element brand to Times Square, our first New York City property. Our guests will be able to recharge and be at their best during their stay in New York City, while enjoying easy access to the businesses and attractions in the heart of Manhattan."
Atop the hotel, a rooftop terrace offers guests beautiful views of the Empire State Building, Hudson River and Midtown section of Manhattan, reports Travel Daily News.
Element hotels compete for Leadership and Energy Design (LEED) certification with its sleek public space, modern atmosphere and eco-friendly plans such as the use of recycled materials for carpets and furniture.
New York hotels are known for being unique and smart, but this Manhattan hot spot may be the smartest one yet.
