Travelers from Australia seeking to experience the sights and entertainment that Las Vegas has to offer will have another lodging option at the beginning of the new year.
A former Ritz-Carlton, located approximately 17 miles off the Las Vegas Strip, will be re-opened by Dolce Hotels and Resorts in February 2011, USA Today reports.
Dolce plans to operate it as a four-star hotel with lower rates than many Las Vegas hotels, including the Ritz-Carlton it is replacing, the news provider said.
"We operate in the four-star arena with five-star service, so we're able to deliver an upper-upscale product without the stigma associated with the luxury name," Dolce CEO Steve Rudnitsky told the news source. "This is actually a first [for me], especially with a well-known, prestigious property."
The company's plan is to continue to operate the hotel as it had been, including the same plush bedding, and marble-and-chrome bathrooms, the news source said.
Visitors to Las Vegas will be able to take advantage of the new hotel's prime location near the Strip while also being able to pay less for the lodging.
