When Aussies are considering their next adventure travel excursion, now may be the ideal time to choose a holiday in the U.S. According to experts from the Visit USA Organisation, more travellers from Down Under are exploring the array of destinations and options offered at wallet-friendly prices, due to the favourable exchange rate and cheaper flights.

Mark Sheehan, Author of popular American travel books, is advising Australians to take advantage of the wealth of options provided for getaways in the U.S.Visitors can choose from various direct routes while taking flights from Sydney, Melbourne, Darwin and Adelaide and reach American cities such as Los Angeles, Las Vegas and countless others. Upon arrival, accommodations and bus tours are affordable due to the exchange rate and dropping prices that are hoping to entice more foreign visitors to help boost the economic state of the tourism industry. Some Australians are even skipping sightseeing and simply shopping when heading to the U.S., as the discounts on electronics and other luxury goods can be significant.
  
Where Aussies prefer to travel in the U.S.

The range of popular destinations that Aussies venture to when heading to the U.S range from beachy western coastlines to bustling cities in the east. In a survey conducted by Travel & Leisure Magazine, Australians included several spots in the U.S. that they would like to or had visited for their holidays. For instance, the second city Australians named as a great getaway was New York, and the Empire State Building in the Big Apple came in at number seven on the top ten list of must-see icons. Overall, the U.S. was ranked number 5 among the 10 best countries to visit on a holiday, alongside Italy, Japan, Morocco and India.

Travellers who head to the U.S. can check out a number of themed holidays. Individuals who prefer the mountains can try a ski week in the Colorado Rockies, or simply admire the lush landscapes by hiking throughout the mountainous peaks in the summer. Beach resorts along the North and South Carolina coasts are plentiful, as are theme parks in Florida and Texas.

Whether Aussies decide to take flights to Las Vegas or organise their New York holidays, a trip to the U.S. can make for a memorable and exciting getaway experience.
