Aussies who like to travel with their kids will soon have a new theme park to explore on the Gold Coast. Visiting amusement centres can be a great way to spend short breaks with the little ones when looking to save money and see new destinations in Australia.
One of the country's leading theme parks, Dreamworld, will be opening its newest land called DreamWorks Experience. This section of the attraction will have several new rides, shows and exhibits for families to enjoy together that feature many of the beloved DreamWorks characters. The first phase of this project was introduced early in 2011, and this final segment will be ready for the public by Easter of this year.
"Dreamworld has done a fantastic job of creating quality entertainment experiences for their customers and we look forward to joining forces with the largest theme park in Australia, a hugely important market for us," Jeffrey Katzenberg, chief executive officer of DreamWorks animation, said in a press release. "The alliance between Dreamworld and DreamWorks represents yet another opportunity for families across the globe to interact with our characters in new and exciting ways."
Each area boasts various personalities that reflect some of the most popular DreamWorks movies. For instance, Po's Garden present rides and character lands from Kung Fu Panda, geared toward younger children. Shrek's Faire Faire Away has several spinning merry-go-rounds and other attractions, such as a dining area with special movie-themed meals.
In Madagascar Madness, families can meet the animals that starred in the film Madagascar, including King Julien the lemur and the talking penguins. In this part of the DreamWorks park, there will be a jungle playground, a kid's coaster called Escape From Madagascar and a live show with song, dance and interactive presentations. Each area has sections geared toward little ones, preteens and whole families to experience together, which is a central idea to Dreamworld's overall goal of making theme parks fun for everyone.
Kids will delight in the new offerings at Dreamworld, which can be a fun part of any travel itinerary when choosing this region for an upcoming trip. Travellers can simply reserve a Brisbane car hire and head south to this theme park, located near many other fun things to see and do during a Queensland holiday.
