Sprawling cities often have reputations for being tourism hotspots that Aussies like to explore on holidays. A metropolis can change over time and receive new recognition as it continues to develop and grow. Aussies and travellers from around the world are considering booking flights to Bangkok, becausethe area is thriving and offering deals on accommodation, cuisine, and attractions. Tourists who want to experience an adventure travel excursion can choose progressive metropolies to enjoy the sights and sounds of an exotic culture.

In the past decade, Bangkok has undergone major changes to beautify the cityscape that welcomes foreigners to check out the sites. Although there have been some natural disasters and outbreaks in the past, Bangkok has overcome these obstacles and is one of the most pleasant destinations to visit for an Asian holiday. Many visitors choose to blend together luxury travel and local sights by staying in some of the top-notch accommodations while visiting local street food vendors, art centres and nightclubs.

Newest luxury hotel opens in Bangkok

One of the newest places where travellers can make reservations is the Okura Prestige in downtown Bangkok. Located close to the Suvarnabhumi International Airport, the hotel will officially open its doors on May 14 and has already begun to take reservations. Specialising in business professionals and affluent holidaymakers, the facility will provide guests with top-notch services and amenities, including access to a state-of-the-art spa, fitness centre and large swimming pool situated on the 25th floor. For dining options onsite, guests will be able to sample dishes inspired by French, Japanese and Italian cooking styles at various restaurants, pastry shops and lounges.

"We are proud of our newest addition, which we think will be the best hotel in Bangkok, said Toshihiro Ogita, owner of the Okura Hotels & Resorts. "We’re looking forward to welcoming many international guests.,"

From street food to high-end cuisine

The hotel complements the traditional side of the city, which is prevalent along the urban streets that travellers can explore on their holiday. Many choose to venture to Thailand, specifically Bangkok, for the unique art and cuisine scene found throughout the metropolis. Because the city is sandwiched between India and China, much of the food draws from various influences, ensuring that all visiting culinary fans will have a unique experience in flavour and presentation. Some of the eats tourists can find at the small, locally owned restaurants include coconut ice cream, fried catfish and roasted duck.

Others may wish to stick to reserving tables at trendy and modern eateries found in Bangkok that offer signature dishes by talented chefs. Nahm is a new restaurant run by Chef David Thompson who has taken his skills and used local spices to create new takes on dishes like fish liver or pork curry. Guests may try a tasting menu as well to try a little bit of everything.

Shop until you drop in Bangkok

Shopping is no longer reserved for tacky souvenirs in Bangkok, as many top designers and name brands have staked their claims in up-and-coming fashion districts. Aussie travellers are able to purchase couture handbags and jewellery from the small boutiques in Chatuchak Market and Siam Square.

No matter what Australian tourists decide to do on their holiday in Bangkok, they are sure to experience a rich culture that protects its customs and leads the pack in progressive style.
