It appears that people just can't get enough of Fiji holidays as the island nation set records for international tourist arrivals for the third month in a row.
According to the Fiji Bureau of Statistics, the island saw 55,995 international guests arrive in June of this year, shattering the previous June record of 52,795 set in 2006, reports Travel Daily News.
Through June of 2010, Fiji has hosted 272,520 foreign visitors, breaking the 2008 record of 270,856 as well.
A closer look at the numbers reveal that it has been mostly Australians taking these Fiji holidays, accounting for 27,651 visitors in June, nearly half of all international arrivals.
Tourism Fiji chief executive officer Josefa Tuamoto said that these figures show that his agency's efforts are paying off.
"These results are again indicative of the impact our overall marketing strategy for the destination is having in our various markets plus all the hard work our regional offices are putting in along with their industry colleagues,” he told the news provider.
