When travellers experience a new event abroad, the venue can be just as important as the show. With technology evolving and changing the way people hold conferences, theatrical productions and more, many countries are updating old venues and upgrading their features. For instance, travellers who have reserved Kyoto hotels and are looking for places to visit in the area can check out the brand new Fortune Garden located downtown.

This facility will mostly be used for business, but officials plan on using the space in the future as a hub for a wide range of activities and conferences. Officially open sometime at the beginning of this year, the Fortune Garden will be a new option for international events and a place for visitors to gather who are staying at the nearby hotels, such as the Ritz Carlton.

"Kyoto is increasingly becoming an important centre for global events and conferences because of the wide range of modern meeting facilities, unrivalled international access, high-quality service, stunning special venues, and plethora of sightseeing and cultural attraction," James Kent, the international marketing manager for the Kyoto Convention Bureau, said in a statement. "New venues such as the Fortune Garden will only help make Kyoto a more attractive place to do business."

Australia has also received some attention for one of its upgraded venues. Travellers who are considering Darwin holiday packages in the future may wish to investigate what events are happening at the city's convention centre. This complex hosts a variety of events throughout the year, some of which are open to public who have an interest in various studies and concentrations. This year, the Darwin Convention Centre was awarded with the Australian Institute of Professional Counsellors' (AIPC) Gold Certification. This is the highest level a facility can reach by the AIPC's quality standards program, handed out for the superior model of safety, security and operations a venue presents.

When Aussie travellers are journeying near and far on holiday, they may wish to visit some of the newest structures and venues being built in the area. Although witnessing some of the historical landmarks in new places can be a thrill, heading to the latest additions a city has to offer can also help tourists learn about their new environment.
