It seems that travelers think highly of Brisbane holidays and vacations in other Australian hot spots as the country was recently voted the most desirable destination in the Asia Pacific region.
A survey of 6,714 travelers from 13 different locations in the Asia Pacific region conducted by market research group Nielsen revealed that 40 percent of respondents would consider traveling Down Under in the next two years. Forty percent of survey takers also said they would think about traveling to Japan in the near future.
In addition, Australia also came out on top when respondents were asked what their most likely destination for their next Asia Pacific holiday with 17 percent, besting Japan by 1 percent.
"With the allure of visiting new places, beautiful natural scenery, affordability and great food the predominant factors in what motivates people to pick a destination, the all-round tourism products in these destinations puts them high on any traveler's list," said Ross Jackson, head of cross-border business at Asia Pacific Visa which commissioned the survey.
China came in third place, displacing last year's bronze medalist, Hong Kong.
