The location justifies the stay
Absolutely top location in the heart of the Rocks historical district. Beautiful view of the Opera House, Harbour and Bridge from the rooftop pool. Beds were very comfortable however rooms are a little dated and rough around the edges and noise from adjacent doors constantly slamming shut was a bother. (Avoid rooms around the laundry room). Breakfast more than adequate. I would recommend to a friend if the price was right given the location alone.

Great location, great value
We chose the Holiday Inn Old Sydney as we were in Sydney over Easter and thought that this area would have some life. We got a great deal and were very happy with our choice. We had intended to go out for breakfast but found the buffet breakfast very good value (particularly with the fresh fruit/vegetable juices available for the making). The Rocks markets were open and we found some really unique items. We walked a lot and found some good value restaurants in the area. Our room was very quiet and we had everything we needed in the vicinity. Taxis were plentiful and we could walk to the best of the citys shopping. I would stay here again without any hesitation.

Everything A+
Holiday Inn/Rocks experience could not have been better. Had executive corner room, large, clean nice linens, good aircon, huge flat screen. Front desk spot on with dinner, lunch recommentations. City tour bus right across the street. Called for ice twice. It arrived almost instantly. Staff very friendly, effective.
