Second Visit To This Classy Hotel

This was my second stay at this classy hotel and the experience again means it would be my choice of a place to stay in Adelaide. The hotel is conveniently situated on the edge of town, near the railway and tram stations with lots of bars and restaurants within walking distance. It also has a really good ambience, as it is a reasonable size, but not so big that you feel just like a room number. The staff are eager and willing to please. This time though one of the check in staff was a bit offhand with me, maybe he had had a bad day. I really like the rooms here, they are comfortable and well appointed and the beds ensured a comfortable night’s sleep. I have not bothered with the breakfast on either of my visits as there are plenty of good cafes nearby that cost a lot less and are filled with locals. On my last visit I had a couple of late drinks in the bar with some friends and had a pleasant time and a couple of nightcaps, the bar staff again were very friendly. The hotel has a small business centre which was perfectly adequate for what I needed and was a life saver. My only gripes, some of which you could direct at most hotels, are that the minibar prices seemed very high and there was no bottled water supplied that was not chargeable. There is a 24 hour convenience store only a 2 minute walk away so that is something that is easy to overcome should you choose to do so.

Traveller's tip on dining

Went to a great restaurant about a 15 minute walk away called British India, great food and great prices. They have a formal dining area but also a bar type area where they serve thali (a sort of indian tapas on a tray). The wine list was also pretty good.
