Not impressed

There is too much noise outside, you can hardly sleep. The rooms are too old. However, the staff at reception are friendly.

Bare bones

Although generally clean, the Plaza Hotel is as no frills as it gets. My biggest issue is that it didn’t seem very secure. The lock on the room seemed adequate, but when I first went to check in, I waited at the counter for about 10 minutes. I could have easily walked in and tried the door to every room, presumably w/o anyone asking. A less important complaint concerns the curtains in the room. They’re like cheesecloth, so they don’t block any sunlight. Don’t even bother setting the alarm.

Traveller's tip on nightlife

Be wary if you’re coming home late. The clubs and bars nearby the hotel attract a colourful crowd, and there’s very little security, as mentioned above. Fortunately there’s a police station nearby as well, so you get the good w/ the bad...
