Marriott International Inc. was founded by J.Willand Marriott in 1927 and has grown to become into one of the largest hotel operators in the world. The Key Bridge Marriott, Virginia, opened in 1949, is the oldest hotel in the group. Marriott operates about 3150 properties in the U.S.A and 67 other countries including the Ritz Carlton brand. Marriott’s business operations can be broadly classified into full-service, select-service and extended-stay lodging and timeshare.
