The clubby dining room, with its smartly attired clientele of bankers and brokers, socialites and society scions, takes its name from an opera composed by oil tycoon and music lover Gordon Getty, whose son is a partner here. The seasonal menu, the creation of chef James Ormsby, spans the Mediterranean. Dishes might include pan-roasted duck breast with caramelized apples, lamb osso buco with saffron-potato puree, or yellowtail with ginger-lime sweet potatoes. The wine list is reasonably priced -- no doubt because the restaurant is an offshoot of the nearby, highly regarded wine shop of the same name.
