Each year the program includes more than 20 fascinating conversations with writers, composers, actors, politicians, and others. The Herbst Theatre, in the Civic Center area, is usually the venue. Past speakers include Lillian Ross, Salman Rushdie, Oliver Sacks, Ken Burns, and Joan Didion.
