Marco Roscioli, longtime proprietor of an upscale food counter and bakery, opened this restaurant (with a gourmet deli counter and wine shop up front) in December 2002 around the corner from his famous forno (bakery). The menu offers a mix of tasty and often uncommon Italian meats and cheeses, as well as pasta, meat, and fish dishes, all of which are meant to be paired with one of the 800 wines on offer. Try the homemade pasta with duck prosciutto or the potato gnocchi with sea-urchin sauce, or splurge on the foie gras. If you book ahead you can get a table in the cozy, appealing wine cellar.
