Azzedine Alaïa is one of the darlings of the fashion set with his perfectly proportioned "king of cling" dresses. You don't have to be under 20 to look good in one of his dresses; Tina Turner wears his clothes well, as does every other beautiful woman with the courage and the curves. His boutique/workshop/apartment is covered with artwork by Julian Schnabel and is not the kind of place you casually wander into out of curiosity: the sales staff immediately makes you feel awkward in that distinctive Parisian way.
