Louis Vuitton

Louis Vuitton has spawned a voracious fan base from Texas to Tokyo with its mix of classic leather goods (the striated Epi, the cocoa-brown monograms, the Damier check) and the saucy revamped versions orchestrated by Marc Jacobs. Jacobs's collaborations, such as with Japanese artist Murakami, have become instant collectibles (and knockoffables). At this writing, the Champs-Élysées branch was closed for renovation until at least winter 2004-05, with a temporary site at 38 avenue George V filling the gap. Métro: George V.
