Tapestry of Dreams A popular holdover from Epcot's Millennium Celebration, this is one of the most spectacular parades in the country. Backed by the talent of The Lion King's Michael Curry, 120 towering puppets (attached to parading performers) march around the World Showcase accompanied by 720 drums and 30 drummers. Giant torch towers set the stage for this event, which, although filled with some hard-to-understand symbolism, is a mighty impressive, eclectic collection of costumes, colors, motion, and music. Don't panic if you miss the first one -- it steps off twice each evening, usually around 6 and 8 (but call or ask a cast member for exact times). Instead of running one extremely long parade, they've created several shorter, identical ones that appear from different points and pass in review by each pavilion. Wherever you stand, you won't miss it. |
