International Center of Photography (ICP)

This leading photography venue doubled its exhibition space in 2001 and moved its former uptown collection to Midtown. The expansion included a larger bookstore and the addition of a small café. Founded in 1974 by photojournalist Cornell Capa (photographer Robert Capa's brother), ICP's exhibits from its permanent collection of 45,000 works often focus on one genre (portraits, architecture, etc.) or the work of a single prominent photographer. COST: $10. Subway: B, D, F, V to 42nd St.
