Hollywood The retail-hotel-dining-entertainment complex Hollywood & Highland bills itself as the "epicenter of pop culture." A tall claim perhaps, but it did help upgrade the image of Hollywood when TV personality Ryan Seacrest began broadcasting his live show here. Along the boulevard, it's one souvenir store after the next, but a few shops -- like Frederick's of Hollywood for lingerie, and Hollywood Toy and Costume for kitschy toys, get-ups, and games -- are worth the stroll. Outside of Hollywood, especially along La Brea Avenue and Cahuenga Boulevard near Sunset (the home of the city's biggest and best music store, Amoeba Music), you'll find plenty of trendy, quirky, and hip merchandise to splurge on. |
