The Gig is a comfortable club combining a bar, some cushy sofas, an elbow table, and the open floor. Its eastern counterpart, the Gig Hollywood (7302 Melrose Ave., Hollywood, PHONE: 323/936-4440), is glitzier, and with a dressier clientele than that of the West L.A. Gig. Both are low-lit, book bands either great or ghastly, and charge $5-$15.
