14 Below is a comfy hangout, but the booking policy (as many as five bands in a night) is a bit erratic, scheduling some of L.A.'s finest, some stone turkeys, and lots of bands doing re-creations of the Dead, the Stones, etc. Mingle with the postcollegiates in the bar, shoot some pool, or go around to the adjacent eatery. Cover varies from free to $12.
