One of the best reasons to venture off the beaten path is Sacred Grounds, one of the area's classic beatniky coffeehouses. Beyond the coffee, tea, bagels, pastries, art on the walls, and cushy couches is the music almost every night (poetry on Monday). It opens at 6 AM daily and stays open until the shows are over (midnight weekdays, a little later on weekends). Covers range from free to $5.
