There's a grand mittel-Europe old world elegance at this instant classic run by Messrs. Corbin and King, two of London's top restaurateurs. Right on Picadilly and framed with black lacquerware, this Viennese-style café serves breakfast from 7 AM through lunch, afternoon tea, and dinner, and stays open until midnight. On the menu, there's Nurnberger bratwurst, Wiener schnitzel, Hungarian goulash, and for dessert, apple strudel and kaiserschmarren (shredded pancake with stewed fruit); there are also decadently rich pastries to go. There's probably no better place for afternoon tea.
