"Architecture Centrum Amsterdam" is dedicated to the promotion of something very much in vogue: modern Dutch architecture. Besides exhibitions, this association organizes lectures, forums, and excellent tours -- including to the new landmarks arising along the Eastern Docklands and the artificial residential island of Ijburg. For anybody who considers architect-cum-philosopher Rem Koolhaas to be the leading prophet of the 21st century, this is a must. A new and nearby exhibition space, all swoopy and silver, at the corner of Prins Hendrikkade and Rapenburgerstraat will be opening at the corner of Prins Hendrikkade and Rapenburgerstraat in early 2004. COST: Free.
