You won't find garish, breakable plastic toys at Kleine Nicolaas. The shop specializes in educational and fine wooden toys, and the owner, a former Montessori kindergarten teacher, has curated a wondeful assortment, including Käthe Kruse and Carolle dolls, soft toys from Steiff, Kösen, and Sigikid, wooden toys from Brio and Selecta, and hard-to-find editions of Ty Beanie Babies. They have much more, and you'll find unique European stocking stuffers for all the kids (grownups, too) back home. Toys may be played with in the shop, which has a special bathroom just for children.
