Wildschut Antiquiteiten When you squeeze past the marvelous wooden wardrobes that fill Wildschut Antiquiteiten, chances are you'll encounter the owner at the back, restoring his latest acquisition. The chests and armoires, made of fine woods such as mahogany, come mainly from northern France and are a tribute to European craftsmanship. These have been restored with loving care, and the shop's owner will fit them with shelves or drawers to your wishes. Many of his U.S. customers have their large furniture shipped home, which Mr. Wildschut says is surprisingly inexpensive (he offers advice about it). The shop also sells cabin trunks from the early 1900s and antique travel cases fitted with original drinking glasses or other small personal items.
