De Poort Recently restored in the Old Dutch style (complete with polished woods and ceiling paintings), De Poort -- part of the Die Poert van Cleve hotel complex -- is, in fact, officially Old Dutch. Its roots as a steak brasserie stretch back to 1870, when it awed the city as the first place with electric light. By the time you read this, De Poort will have served well over 6 million of its acclaimed juicy slabs, served with a choice of eight accompaniments. The menu is supplemented with other options such as smoked salmon, a traditional pea soup thick enough to eat with a fork, and a variety of seafood dishes.
