Amsterdam offers lesbians very few places to meet and party. Women should check at the bars, the women/lesbian bookstore Xantippe Unlimited (Prinsengracht 290, Grachtengordel West, 020/623-5854), or the COC (Rozenstraat 8, Jordaan, 020/623 4596, www.coc.nl), a national organization that deals with all matters gay and lesbian, for women's parties and events. But there is an official dance club -- You II -- that has tried to fill the void.
