Dhow Inn is a nice , clean and simple Hotel 50 meters from the sea. Breakfast is poor, staff's english is poor but they are so kind. At the time we arrived to our room, there was no hot water and they could fix it only the next day. One night they arranged a dinner for us at the rock hotel, 20 min drive, they arranged a taxi where the driver didn't know where the restaurant was and we were lost in the evening and got very nervous. other than that, the room was very clean and nice. The service was slow.
I have only positive things to stay about our stay at the Z hotel- everything felt luxurious. The staff made us feel welcome and even learned our names right off the bat! This is the perfect place to come relax after hiking Kili! I hope to be back one day!
We have just come back from our stay at Kichanga and had a wonderful time, we would recommend to all! We stayed for 4 nights after a week long safari and then stayed for 2 nights in a lodge near Stone Town. Our stay here was a highlight of our trip, the lodge is near a lovely quiet beach that is very hot in the morning-afternoon and then shady in the late afternoon (when tea & cake is served at the beach bar!). The beach is sandy and swept clear of seaweed every morning (unlike some of the beaches further along...), the walk to the sea to swim is a little dangerous though as the sea bed here is coral and sea urchins - you'll need water shoes, the lodge do also provide them. We arranged x2 excursions with the reception - I would avoid the people selling excursions on the beach as they aren't insured - and they were both very reasonable priced & excellent. We went snorkeling after lunch at The Rock & saw the red colobus monkeys at Jozani Forest. Highly recommended! We had beach bungalows with ocean views: 10 & 11. Our bungalow (10) was great and had a stone roof, but 11 had a wooden roof in the traditional style and unfortunately it was pretty noisy at night and let in a few mosquitoes. The owner, Nigel, was welcoming and gave us some good advice for our onward trip to Stone Town. The staff were friendly & attentive, the receptionist had noticed that it was my birthday during our stay and arranged a very lovely surprise on the day!
