“Only the Location”

If this hotel was not situated where it is in Zagreb, I would rate it as only average and overpriced. The 4 star rating can not be correct for this hotel as the rooms were terribly small and the elevator was frightening. They should be thankful because their staff were very nice, it was clean but lacked any modern ameneties expected with a 4 star rated hotel. The Palace staff, the breakfast and the location definately make this hotel a place to stay but nothing else about it makes it memorable.

“Convenient and comfortable”

Very easy to access this hotel from bus/train station via excellent tram, which continues another stop to the main City Square. The breakfast spread was wide-ranging and excellent.

“Good Location”

The Hotel is not far from town and is on the tram line (#6) and easy enough to reach from the bus station. The hotel is a bit dated but the rooms are comfortable and clean. It is a easy 5 minute walk into the main square.

“Good location / mediocre room”

We stayed at this hotel at the end of May. The hotel is in a great location. Not far from the main square or the train station and a short tram ride from the bus station (and the tram stops right in front of the hotel). The outside of the hotel and the foyer are also very nice. However, our room was mediocre. Nothing great and nothing horrible. The shower door did seem to be broken but the staff never had time to fix it (the shower door only covered the back 2/3 of the shower/tub).

“fine location, fine value”

The Palace is in an excellent location on the main street linking the train station and Zagreb's main square. It is three blocks from the station and five from the square. Two good museums (archaeology and modern art) are also on the street, and several good restaurants are on side streets. A pleasant park is across from the hotel. My room was in the new wing of the hotel, and I have no complaints about any of its features. The breakfast included in the room rate is superb, with an abundant collection of fresh meats, breads, cheeses, yogurts, fruits, cereals, juices and teas. Hot dishes include delicious sausages and eggs, scrambled and hard-boiled. Good tourist information like maps and guides was provided in the room.

Area recommendations

The Palace neighborhood is both convenient and quiet; lively night areas are not far away.

“Peace and quiet in the city center”

The Palace Hotel is charming and ideally located near museums, concert halls, and excellent restaurants. The staff was extremely helpful and courteous. I'll be back again.
