This is the trade off when it’s cheap. I stayed again in this hotel within 6 month. This time it’s for 2 weeks, everything has happened - forgot my breakfast order the first morning - asked me to change room at 11PM because their hot water pipe has broken - new room is smaller and cranky and it smells - AC stopped working after a week so the room is like 26°C after shower, I had the WORSE sleep. And their explanation is that they keep the central AC at 24° after the temp drops below certain degree but comm it’s a tropical city how cold can it be?

The Hotel has free airport shuttle and an awesome lunch buffet. Staff is super friendly but most of them don’t speak English so communication can be difficult. We had a great time over all.

I stay here all the time. The service changes from day to day. Food is better if you are in the new building or the connecting building. The remote buildings have a smaller kitchen and only offer limited of food, usually cold. Beds are FIRM / HARD. Pillows are wonderful. I lay on them for my back. Utilities are good, internet can be tricky. Holidays are not quiet, usually weddings, or other events. Overall, good review. I've tried others.

Close to airport; nice property - allows you to wander the grounds and get some 'leg stretching' if you would like. I personally like the pool area, although I wonder why there's no proper gym, as in most hotels these days there's a fully updated gym. It's a nice place to stay - I'd say a solid 3.5 stars to 4 stars at the highest (for the 7 story place), but for the price it's above value. I've been staying here for over 15 years when it's gone through different ownership and pretty much consistent attention.

Hotels need free airport pick-up and drop-off services booked in advance. The staff was very accommodating and let us check in early!! The fruit in the room was a nice gesture. The water massage therapy pool is AMAZING...wish we would've checked it out earlier. The shuttle back to airport was full and we used all of our yuan on snacks...so the Manager of hotel arranged for one of her drivers to take us..so thoughtful. Wish we can bring the 5 star level of service back to USA. We will definitely stay here again and even recommended the hotel to a few friends.

Lucky to be upgraded to a suite in the bungalow area. Facilities and service both very good. The only drawback is that the bungalows are generally for VIPs as I understood so may not be in full use hence a bit "smelly" from long locked up when first entering.

Decent hotel, but wouldn't stay there again.
For the price the hotel was good. The room was kind of dingy and the maids didn't wipe the counters and stuff down each day. The room was straightened but I was not impressed with the cleanliness. The room was non-smoking but it still smelled heavily of smoke. It was a cheap room and the hotel staff was amazing, but overall wasn't too impressed.

Helpful and friendly staffs.
Good hotel with reasonable price. Safe location.easy transportation by bus, fare is one dollar rmb. For any trip all over town.hotel staffs are helpful for bus lines.

Terrible experience
Very challenging communication. Hotel offers free shuttle from airport to hotel, we called to schedule and they never arrived. The WiFi didn’t work, and the Room temperature was hot. The staff is not friendly We ask for our money back for the transfer and they did give to us, but not friendly at all .

Excellent 5 star hotel experience in Xiamen
Hotel is a well maintained top level 5 star hotel in this city. The room was very comfortable and had all the needed accessories. Breakfast was very good. However, it's location - though quiet and good neighborhood, is not within walking distance of restaurants, stores or such - only a short drive from such places. Best hotel I have stayed in Xiamen so far.

I've been here 100 times over the past ten years - nice grounds, nice amenities in new hotel - a little bit dated in other hotels, but being renovated from what I can see. easy, convenient and 4 out of 5. You will not go wrong here.

OK, but not my favorite in Xiamen.
The hotel is above average. We arrived very late due to "air traffic control" delays and the room we booked was in "another" building which would have delayed getting to bed even further, so we had to opt for an "upgraded" room in the building where you check in. Nothing in the reservation information mentioned that our reservation was for another building "next door" and that you needed to take a golf cart to get there. I prefer a more straight forward one building hotel without the rigamarole of needing to go to another building for either check in or check out.

Nice, comfortable, clean hotel
I stayed in the C&D for 6 nights, and it was a very pleasant experience. The rooms are well-maintained and clean, Staff is courteous and helpful. Their English is highly variable and sometimes there can be a little difficulty communicating, but there is usually someone with better English who can be called. The breakfast was very good in my opinion, with lots of western and Asian selections. All in all, it was a very pleasant experience at the C&D and I would book with them again.

Great traditional hospitality in XIAMEN
One thing I have to complain is that a guest was smoking in the non-smoking lobby and I didn't see the staff trying to stop him. The tourists' quality does vary a lot in China and the hotel staff needs to enforce the rules.
