Had to pay an extra $25 because the manager would not honor third party booking. The A/C is fixed so that it would not cool below 26 deg C. Initially, had to keep door and window open to try and cool the room. Room 1 is small with a single and a double bed in it. The insulation between the rooms is poor. The guests next door started making noises at 4.30am and continued till 7am when they left. The parking for this room is not under cover and is located 10m away.

Hi and many thanks for reviewing us Andrew. It seems we need to clarify some matters for you and other readers. 1. As the owner, at check-in I explained that you'd chosen to use an online travel booking agency rather than direct, which if you had've we would have made you aware that the price you had paid was for usage of one bed only. As you requested with us to use two beds, you were charged the additional fee, just like all of our Guests. 2. Unfortunately, for reasons best known to yourself, you chose to cut my check-in introduction/overview short and leave to go to your instead, I was unable to explain that we'd pre-set our air cons to go to the heat cycle, due to the extremely cold nights we'd been experiencing at the time. I would've also explained that you only had to pop over (approx 15m) to us at Reception and request our assistance to adjust the mode from heat to cool. In addition, the air con was not "fixed" to 26 degrees as, again, during my check-in intro it is part of our normal procedure to explain that the temperature can be increased/decreased by Guests as they please, along with the fan speed. Unfortunately in your haste to leave Reception, none of this was explained. Later, when your wife commented to us about the air con won't cool, we explained the above to her which she accepted. We also changed the mode for you. 3. Room 1 at our Motel has a Queen and 2 Singles. Your room, number 2, has a Queen and a Single. Your perception of "small" is contrary to other Guests who've commented to us, often, that our rooms on that side of the complex are surprisingly large, given they weren't built recently. Room 2 is approx 25m2, containing amongst other things a Queen bed, a Single bed, two bedside tables, a sitting/lounge chair, bench with two seats, full size bar fridge along with a separate room within, containing the bathroom/shower/toilet. 4. It's a shame we have little control over what time Guests choose to arise, in addition to their respective noise levels, as we would've acted accordingly, which may I suggest you also had the option to do, requesting them to respect other Guests who don't need to be awake at that time. 5. You are correct in that there is no designated undercover car parking for Room 2. Around 80% of our complex does in fact have a designated undercover carparking spot, right at the door, and yours was one of those that didn't, meaning it was approx 10m away from your room. In summary, I invite you, and other readers of this, to visit any online Review platform they desire, because the vast majority of our Guests are overwhelmingly praiseworthy of the efforts we undertake to assist in their stay being as clean and comfortable as possible.

Staff were able to check us in early and were beefy helpful. Clean rooms with nice hot shower. Just what we needed. Loved our stay.

Hi Desmond and thank you for taking the time to score us. I invite the readers here to visit any other online platform/s to view the ratings/reviews we've received since taking ownership of this Motel on the 31/1/22, and then take yours into account. Despite all of us here, in our combined opinion, bending over backwards to assist you during your stay, your departing comment describing the township of Winton (which I won't elaborate on here as my response will be blocked) was, as I explained at the time, the ONLY occasion any of our Guests have said anything negative, whatsoever, in relation to our great little town. A further comment that you won't be coming back to Winton again, will be supported. I wish you well in your endeavours to find a location that stacks up for you, though I might suggest it's not going to be in the Outback.
