Great stay in Hotel Mercure Oostende
Minor point is the noisy street next to the room, for the rest we've been extremely happy to enjoy our stay.

Good small modern double rooms. That are well finished. Nice small bar. No chef on an evening breakfast is best sticking to continental. I’d stay again m. Parking is under ground 25 euros in public park.

Good location with helpful staff. Parking at the hotel with 15 spots was fully booked, so we had to use the nearby parking under the casino, which was 25 euro/day.

The hotel and room were clean and accommodating. The family room seemed quite small and the view wasn't great, but just with a 2 minute walk, you can feel the sand between your toes. Totally worth it staying there!

Nice compact hotel
Good central location, close to shops, eateries and sea front. Rooms are compact but more than adequate, breakfast at 20 euros each a little expensive but there are plenty of places nearby for less. On the whole a nice hotel and we would consider using it again if we returned to Ostend.

Not wowed for a 4-star hotel
In general it was ok but not necessarily wowed for a 4 star hotel. First, the breakfast attendant was impolite & felt very unwanted in the breakfast area on the last day maybe because we were of different race & we couldn’t speak the local language. We observed her interacting with other customers differently. Secondly we stayed here for 3 nights with no complimentary water for the entire stay, we had to buy from the front desk. I feel water & ice is a basic essential & should be complimentary in a 4-star hotel for the entire stay.

Was Nice hotel with good breakfast and friendly staff. It was clean and tidy. I would recommend it for a short stay as small room but good enough for a few nights. Might get bigger rooms if asked. Unsure about other rooms.

Great stay in Ostend.
Had a very pleasant stay at this hotel. We did not have breakfast, but check in and check out were fine. We pre-booked parking which was very secure and efficient. A lovely hotel which did the job very satisfactorily for our weekend in Ostend. Very good location. My only complaint was the tea and coffee was not replenished daily but not a big issue.

Do not stay here! Lying Managers and staff. Hotel staff violating guest privacy in the night without consent The manager complained that our phone alarm was ringing throughout the night. My husband asked him the following question; “Are you sure the sound was coming from our room?” Manager replied, “the receptionist called your room, there was no answer. He also came to your room in the night and saw you all sleeping, he saw your phone alarm ringing in your room”. The manager could not say what time the receptionist came into our room. My breasts were exposed in the night as I was feeding my baby in my sleep. The staff have seen my exposed breasts!! The staff at the hotel violated our privacy and entered our room without our consent. After getting expedia involved to raise the concern, the hotel manager denied anyone ever entering our room. Expedia have a record of the conversation that took place between them. Expedia emailed me confirming that the hotel manager denied anyone entering our room. After Expedia pressed the matter further, the hotel FINALLY admitted that hotel staff had entered our room! Hence, they have seen my exposed breasts! No apology has been given regarding this! The hotel avoided Expedia when confronting their misconduct. The manager clearly knows he is in the fault and is avoiding this. He has lied and has not admitted to lying to us. Expedia acknowledged the unprofessional behaviour of the hotel manager.

Perfect Location
Smart “city style” hotel situated perfectly for the splendid bars, cafes, restaurants, & fine shops Ostend has to offer. Staff are fluently multilingual & nothing is too much trouble. Good choice for breakfast. The rooms are no more than adequate, but very clean.

Nice enough room. The lift was broken for the first ~18 hours, and it is just as well I was only on the 4th floor (the stairs were steep). The breakfasts were impressive. I would certainly stay in this hotel for them again. The bathroom and shower were a bit tight, and the walls a bit thin.

Great position n centre of town. Had breakfast elsewhere because expensive so cannot comment on quality. View from window was of roof and heating system but was quiet for beng in centre. Comfortable and clean. Good bathroom.

One night before business meeting following day. Rooms clean with all one would normally expect in thins class of Hotel. Communal area a bit small and not so welcoming. Staff and rooms OK. Breakfast was good with sufficient choice. Didn't try restaurant as there is a good one across the road close by.

Business visit - two nights
When I arrived I was told of the wifi network name and password. I found that the given network name was not available in the room. This involved wasting quite a bit of time as I tried to connect with both a laptop and smart phone and then to attempt to fault find. I also couldn't phone the reception as the phone didn't work. I took my laptop to the reception and found the right network. They offered to change room for me to one with better reception but it was too late by then and I did the remainder of my work in the reception area. When I tried to find a web page my browser did not redirect to a login page and said that the connection was insecure. This also involved wasting a great deal of time and eventually the hotel staff told me that the "redirect to login page" only occurs when the user goes first to "google.com" rather than any other web page. I eventually discovered that I could get the room phone to work by changing which socket it was plugged into.

Wrong booking with Ramada
Hotel was fully booked when we arrived and my reservation was missing. Although I already paid. If your confirmation has Ramada on it, please double check because something went wrong when they switched systems to Mercure. We had to move to another hotel.

Very good refurbished hotel in a central location. Excellent buffet breakfast [hot & cold items]. Room a bit on the small side - especially the bathroom. However, nice and clean.

It was the worst few days at staying at this hotel, so bad we cut our holiday short. The bed that we slept on was like a block of concrete. We could hear dripping all night.

The hotel itself and location was nice; the room and breakfast offerings were great. The elevator is not convenient to use during the day, as the cleaning people are often using it to ascend/descend the nine floors, which makes it either very slow or unusable. I found the breakfast staff a bit discourteous, closing off areas for seating and leaving us with only dirty tables to sit at. Lastly, the gentleman responsible for service at check out was quite rude. Unbeknownst to either of us, there was a mistake on the part of hotels.com (apparently), and he was rudely accusatory that I was the one in the wrong and implied that I was not showing him enough gratitude. I was not rude, merely stating that I had in fact already paid for my stay online during booking (the point at dispute). I found and showed him my hotels.com confirmation of already having paid, but he did not apologise for being rude to me or calling me wrong; he merely tried to excuse and justify his previous behavior (which is not the same as an apology and which goes a long way in the world of customer service).
