“Nice place for a getaway!”
The staff at the Railto were awsome! Great hotel in a great location!
“Great escape”
Look forward to future visits! This hotel will be my number 1 choice for future trips to the island
“Thumbs up for Hotel Rialto.”
The room was very tastefully decorated and spotless. The heated bathroom floor was a nice touch. The location was perfect for walking access to downtown shopping and restaurants. Parking was a block away if you don't mind the walk but though checkout is 11 we were allowed parking access until 3 pm. Will book again in future.
“Rialto Gets it Done”
Very personalized customer service. Clearly a hotel that is doing it's best to satisfy customers.
“fantastic!”
the front desk staff were exceptionally pleasant and helpful! we enjoyed a complimentary cheese plate in the lounge as well as wonderful treats for breakfast. our room was awesome--very modern (even had a microwave and min-fridge). super quiet too! we'd definitely stay here again!
“Will certainly visit again!”
Nice place. The staff was courteous and helpful. Enjoyed the location because it was easy to walk and explore downtown. No real negatives. Only stayed one night.
“A Pleasent Surprise”
We used the hotel for the night to see Elton John. Very clean and smart.. The staff, ESPECIALLY the housekeeper were a joy to deal with. Bed was comfy, the bathroom was a pleasure to be in. It's right on Douglas so there is some road noise, and the parking is a little way off, but otherwise I would recomend it unreservedly. Oh.. one thing, the hair conditioner is horrible. I don't know why because all the other products were gorgeous, but just take your own. Oh and try the Pizza place 3 doors down.. lovely pizza.
“Good for the late 20's to late 30's crowd... near shopping, good bartender at their lounge.”
The hotel is located in the cusp of the main strip/shopping area and what islanders call their downtown "skid area" however I'm from Vancouver and its NOTHING like hastings. For a sheltered city girl I felt pretty safe walking around the area and ironically its clean. The hotel is steps away from China town and Government street and a 5-10 minute walk to the harbour. The hotel is unique in that its an old building but just newly renovated, so beds are soo comfortable, room is clean, not fancy but not bare minimum. Not all the rooms have a view but I'm not one to stay in my hotel room for a view unless I'm on a beach. We tried their bar/lounge/resto...it was fantastic. Appies were delicious, service was great. Their martinis were fantastic and the bartender made it just right...no skimping. The place suited a late twenties to late thirties crowd. Their cafe only serves fresh pressed coffee for $1.50...better than $3-5 on the mainland. Their front desk personnel were very friendly and accomodating considering it was a busy long weekend. Michael was awesome and suggested many places for us to go to and they all checked out well! Pescatores seafood resto was delicious and price amazing for what your getting. I'd stay their again! Its not for an older crowd or young children....I can see the area changing. If the hotel keeps up with the cleanliness and maintenance then I can see this hotel being successful for a long time. Good for the value!
“FANTASTIC addition to Victoria”
Having lived in the area my entire life I have memories of this hotel attracting a rather unsavoury crowd HOWEVER the renovations have made this my new FAVOURITE place in Victoria and I can not stop raving about it. It is conveniently located within walking distance of Government street for boutique shopping and the Sunday market (summers) at the MacPherson theatre crossroads, great restaurants (go to Zambris or Brasserie l'ecole), or the Save On Centre for hockey or concerts. The rooms are fabulously appointed with an amazing bed and the bathroom is stunning complete with a full length mirror YAHOO. Make sure to request an inside room. The hotel is located on a very busy street which could make it noisy if you're not a city person, we heard nothing in our room which had a lovely window allowing for a lot of natural light. Make sure to be served by Simon at the bar and have a liesurely coffee in the coffee shop, you will not be disappointed. The front desk is extremly helpful and will encourage you to visit the museum downstairs showcasing the history of the building DO IT! Please note there is no designated parking for this hotel, but finding a spot is not a problem in Victoria. Book this hotel, you will not be disappointed and we'll definately be back!
“Chic twist on historic Victoria”
The Rialto worked out perfectly for us for a single night in Victoria. The central locations enabled us to have lunch in Chinatown and walk the historic streets and harbor area without feeling exhausted. Parking slightly inconvenient a block away, but the solid location meant we didn't need the use the car after checking in. Room was stylish and clean with everything we needed. Something of a wine theme, with bottles for purchase in the room, affiliation with downstairs wine shop and tapas bar. No problem with that. Front desk was very helpful and even arranged for us and our baby to be served food in the lobby dining area, since he was not allowed in the tapas bar. Would definitely stay again.
