Room and bathroom were small, but made up for it by a private large terrace and patio with excellent view. Close to restaurant with a great view as well. Just steps from the trail to Corniglia (if open).

The room I had was at the top Vernazza. Amazing views of the city from here. A bit of a hike to get to my room but the views made it very worth while. Property was clean but basic. I did not have wifi. It was the off season so I also did not get a breakfast

The room has a big balcony but it's very small. The view is stunning, that's what we cared most. When we arrived, it's raining. The steps we had to climb were a little hard with the luggage. Later I found the backside road. The steps are less steep as the way from the town center direction.

A basic hotel but with great views of Vernazza at the patio outside each room. Can compensate everything. Would recommend to others.

Stunning view of Vernazza in Cinque de Terre
The view from this room’s patio is stunning! You can see the sea on two sides, quaint village on one side and terraced hillside with vineyard on other! The patio was private and filled with flowers and vines. The only drawback was the size of the room. The double bed and mini-fridge about fill it up and it was hard for two people to be in bedroom at same time, but who visits Cinque de Terre and stays in their room anyway? Bathroom clean with very nice shower. An outside restaurant looking out across sea and mountains was up several sets of winding stone stairs. Beautiful! You have to climb many winding stone steps to reach the hotel, but it’s wirth every step!

A bad experience
Our room had a double bed and a small refrigerator. The bed, the fridge, and a small pegboard on the wall were the entire furnishings. There was not enough space for a chair or nightstand. We had only the bed to sit on. When I got up during the night I had to climb over my husband because the bed was pushed against the wall and there was not enough space at the foot of the bed to get on to the floor. The bathroom was small, but sufficient. Since it was raining during our stay we could not use the patio. In good weather, the patio would have been wonderful because the view is spectacular. We have been staying in different hotels in the Cinque Terre, Florence and Siena, and have no complaints. The going rate for hotels is in the 100-200 Euro range and includes breakfast. We believe that Camera de la Torre is overpriced for what they offer. We've used booking.com with great success, and have been equally successful booking privately. We are experienced travelers and have not had to complain previously.

Fantastic view, good location.
Lots of stairs to get to the room and 2 spiral staircases that made it hard to carry bags, but it was so worth it! It’s a small room, but great location and an amazing view. Andrea is great too and gave good suggestions for places to eat near the room. It’s a little pricey considering the size of the room but you’re paying for the experience of staying inside Vernazza and the terrace. It’s also good to note that there’s no new construction allowed because the Cinque Terre is a national park so with limited options, and high demand, it’s expensive to stay anywhere. But it’s definitely worth the extra money to have an intimate experience with the Cinque Terre.

Convenient and good value
Great location and very affordable. The internet didmy really work but not a major setback. Also worth mentioning is that the toilet is very close to the wall and shower so if you are 6' 2" or taller this may be annoying. Still not a big deal. Worth the stay!

Lovely memories made
My husband and I recently spent two nights at Camere La Torre in Vernazza and had a wonderful time. We were greeted by a very friendly and kind young man, Andre. He and his extended family own the building and run the restaurant a short distance up the stairs (plenty of stairs in Vernazza!) from the rooms. Andre walked us up (carrying my bag) and made sure we had everything we needed. We were awestruck by the beauty of being up so high above the Mediterranean Sea. We slept with the door open to the terrace so we could hear the surf crashing below. Bliss! The apartment was clean and organized, meeting our needs just fine. We would go back in a heartbeat....love Camere la Torre!

To feel on top of the world, you'll have to climb.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the Rustico Piccolo at Camere La Torre. We're balcony/sunset/and trail people, and this particular location maximizes on a huge private balcony/terrace that has some of the greatest views over all of Vernazza and almost instantaneous access onto the trailhead to Corneglia. The room itself was quite compact but tidy. Did have a minifridge and a standing dresser in the room, along with the bed - and that took up about 90% of the available space. Clean and tidy, but dated- could use newer bedding, fixed screens on the windows and a mirror. It is a hike to the room, and as the key called it "Rustico"-- but if you go for the patio, the views and the sunset (and the hiking), it most certainly is worth it. But if you're not all about those things and willing to sweat a little to get there, then you won't enjoy it to the fullest.

Basic room at top of village
This room is very basic with no air conditioning and the tiny bathroom downstairs. However, we enjoyed the outstanding views of the sea and the village of Vernazza. We left the door open to take advantage of the cool sea breezes and to hear the waves. The outstanding view comes with a price: you must walk a good distance up hill to reach it. Not a good room for anyone not in good physical shape.

Room with a spectacular view
Okay yes the room is small but if you have ever rented an apartment in New York City this is about the size of your bedroom. I have lived in a tenement apartment on the 5th floor for over 38 years. So this was like home with a better view. Arrive by train and bring just a backpack. This is a town clinging to the side of a hill. If you don't want to deal with steps and winding staircases stay in a room down on the Main Street. The views are spectacular and worth every penny. The owners could not have been nicer and basically they leave you alone. More like an airb&b than an hotel and that was just fine with us. Also you should bring cash as no one in town took any credit cards from paying for the room to dinner and even many of the stores. Vernazza is gorgeous and this room allowed us to be reminded of its beauty over and over again. If you are up for an adventure and don't care about hotel amenities this is the place to stay.

Just like camping!
This isn't a hotel. It's a shed that has been converted into a "bedroom". The room only is two feet wider and six inches longer than the bed and fills with heat that can't escape. There is no hot water and the mosquitoes comes in through the old windows that are missing screens. And to top it off, the sheets were stained with blood.

Many, many steps up but view is most spectacular!
We had the highest room in Vernazza, so it's many, many steps up, but the view is spectacular. This suite that sleeps 4 has two rooms and a large private terrace with 4 lounge chairs and an unsurpassed view. There are no hotels in Vernazza - just rooms that families rent out, but these rooms were clean, comfortable, relatively spacious. No air conditioning, but the fans kept things cool during an unusual hot spell. Large refrigerator & sink, small but modern bathroom, ample storage space inside and clothes drying rack outside, tight kitchen table & chairs, spiral interior staircase connecting the two rooms. Host Andrea was extremely nice (met us and helped carry bags then served us lunch at restaurant). The restaurant run by the same owners was another two flights higher up on the trail to Corniglia and had an even more spectacular view, and the drinks & food (e.g., steamed mussels & pesto lasagna) were great.

A high climb but worth it for the view!
We stayed here for two nights in June 2015. We were to stay at house number 64. We got there but the host was upstairs "2 minutes" if we wanted to stop at his bar to see him. He did leave a number to call him but we decided to go to his bar anyway. 2 minutes up the stairs is very different for a fit young Italian who does it everyday and North Americans who do not. took us at least ten to fifteen minutes. Sat at the rather unfriendly bar until we asked for our host. He was very lovely. Takes cash only for the room rate, fyi. Our room was another four flights of stairs up. 260 stairs in total from the bottom. The terrace was amazing. View of the entire city and start of the hiking trail. The room was very small, cold water (understandably, it is on a mountain) only, but you aren't there for the room. Do not bring anything other than a backpack. Check your luggage at Le Spezia station. Second night we had to change rooms, it was a bit nicer, more modern but the terrace was not as private. Beautiful view, just be ready for 260 stairs! And to pay in cash! Bring your supplies with you as you do not want to climb those stairs many times!

Never again
The balcony we had was used as owners laundry for the rented rooms so that was part of your view. Room had double bed and the head of bed was against wall the foot of bed had 8" between bed and wall. Side of bed was pushed against wall the other side had less than 3' to wall and door with mini fridge using that space also. They gave us a key to an outside storage unit to put our luggage in! Ants in restroom, dirty cups, restroom was 4x8', the climb to the room was expected but tough uneven steps. No ac but a nasty small fan was in the room. If you leave the window open anyone can look in bc it was just a screen if open. Great view but not worth it.

Very small but incredible views.
Out of all of the places that we stayed at during our 2 month trip to Europe, this was hands-down our favorite place. The location was incredible. The view from the balcony is probably the best view of Vernazza in the whole town. I hesitate to rate it this way because we just want this place all to ourselves. The family that rents it out is super nice. They only take cash, but they also operate a restaurant above the room with probably the best restaurant view in all of Vernazza. The room is very very small, but it'll be worth it when you see the view.

But if you're looking for the ultimate Vernazza adventure, take the 100 plus steps & a bottle of good wine with you. The memories will last a lifetime !!

Great view terrible room
This not really a hotel - no front desk. It is just a collection of rooms for rent. We arrived and a note on the door said call a cell phone - no answer. The note said climb up to the restaurant of the same name. A man who works there opened The door to an extremely small room. It had a double bed, a small refrigerator and almost no room for luggage. We had to crawl over each other. This room also gets very hot in the afternoon, no A/C of course. On the plus side the view is fantastic. Vernazza is very busy and expensive, so be careful what you book. The trails are best done early in the morning When it is cooler and less crowded. Do not buy train tickets online ahead of time. The online system will give you codes to print tickets which the ticket machines cannot recognize. Buy you tickets at the station! Then when the conductor comes for the ticket then you have it rather than a piece of paper that says you purchased a ticket that they may or may not honor. Also if you do get a code for the ticket you will have to stand in the long agent line to get it printed.

Worth the Hike
couple of things to know. Like you WILL have to climb stair to get to this hotel. It is located on the path between vernazza and corniglia so its a bit of a hike. The hotel owner runs a restaurant even higher above the hotel along the path, and there is a good chance you will have to hike to the restaurant to check in. (It is a beautiful hike with gorgeous views and well worth it!) The pictures dont do this place justice, it is amazing and beautiful and the patio is breathtaking!. One last thing. The bell tower and church bells start ringing at 7am. They are loud and will wake you up if you leave the windows open. It is a beautiful sound and a very quaint and wonderful place. Enjoy the experience and dont look for reasons to complain. Everything about this hotel is fantastic as long as you are looking to enjoy yourself.

Best view, lacking amenities
First, the bad: hot water didn't work (we tried 4 different times), and the host wasn't apologetic when we inquired the next morning. The exterior awning and a couple patio lights didnt work (minor issues). The room is tiny, even by European standards - you have to turn sideways to squeeze past the bed. It is a LONG hike uphill to our room, and we are very fit people. Do NOT carry your 40 pound suitcases up the gravel trail like we did! The hotel address is one of the higher buildings in town, and the bar where you meet the host to check in is much higher along the trail than that. (Rick Steves mentions this bar as a good stopping place if you want a break on the trail from Corniglia before getting to Vernazza proper!) And then the room was even higher up the trail than the bar! All that being said... The good: That long hike means your room has literally the best view in all of Cinque Terre. No exaggeration. The room has 2 windows with views, plus a large multi-part patio with a table for sunsets or breakfast, plus lounge chairs. You can enjoy the uninterrupted view of the sea, look down on all of Vernazza and the surrounding terraces, and see the lights of Monterosso in the distance at night. Absolutely incredible. The setting alone means I will have a positive memory of the place, even without the hot water. When I come back to Cinque Terre, I will stay in this room again... But I will only bring a small backpack and make sure the hot water is working first!

The view was absolutely stunning! Can't speak more highly of it. But the room is so small, that you can't even have a bag next to the bed, and one person had to step out onto the patio for the other person to pass. It's ridiculous. They have a shed outside on the patio for you to put your suitcases in. Which is very inconvenient and frustrating.

Very ''homely", but not Cinque Terre standard.
The location was great - right on the main street and quiet at night. The staff were friendly when we met them on arrival. However... it was more like staying at your great Aunt's house for a visit than being in a hotel on holiday. Decor was very last-century, and linen looked well worn. It was clean, but not quite hotel standard. Light fitting broken in bedroom, marks on the walls, window broken and stove not connected. Just having a kettle would have made it a little more homely.

we were billeted not in a room with a rooftop terrace or similar but in a room much farther below with a street view below (i'm not complaining about this one) which lets you observe the everyday life of your neighbors and the tourist that walks around vernazza. the room which we did not expect was quite good like a studio-type apartment except we did not cook. breakfast was not included but you can buy that from a nearby deli which opens early (maybe 7:30am). you have to walk some flight of stairs to get to the street though

We loved this place, but if you are a hotel snob, it's probably not for you. We like a good adventure, and were excited to find it was tucked up at the top of 110 steps at the top of Vernazza, with a beautiful view of the town and the sea! It's tiny, but has a lovely terrace to sit on, so who cares! If you are fit, travel light, and enjoy a spirit of adventure, I would recommend you stay here. If, however you require elevators, room service, state of the art plumming, and a front desk to help with all of your needs, you might consider staying home. This is not the hotel or the town for you!

Tiny room, great views - leave luggage elsewhere
It was hard to find and the stairs were crazy because this was at the end of our trip and we had two large, heavy suitcases. Here are my instructions to help future travelers. At the pharmacy on the left across from the pizzeria go up the stairway and stay left. Go up until you see Rooms Elizabetta and keep going until you see a black gate with spiral staircase within. The room was not much bigger than the bed so we put one suitcase in the shed and put one on the fridge. My advice to others - pack a backpack and leave your luggage elsewhere (train station or ANYWHERE else). Also if you are a light sleeper, do not stay here. The trains go by all night with really loud, long trains (I assume they were freight trains because they were much louder than the regular passenger trains) that start about 5am in morn, plus church bells ringing at every quarter hour. I wear earplugs and still couldn't sleep. However, the views were amazing!! Unfortunately, we couldn't find a good restaurant that would do take out so we ended up eating pizza and drinking wine all nite long on that wonderful balcony. Just ignore all of the laundry that is drying everywhere. This balcony is where the washing machine is and the cleaning equipment is kept so don't expect it to be private during the day.

Small room but excellant views from Terrace
The location information provided on the confirmation was not specific enough and it was a bit difficult to find as the hotel is not even listed on the local map that we picked up at the town information office and the signage is inadequate on the building itself. After asking locals where it was and trudging up many steps with our baggage we needed to call the hotel owner to meet us at the unit. The room was so small that luggage did not fit in it but a locked storage space on the terrace was provided. We enjoyed our stay in Cinque Terre and the views from the terrace made the tough climb up to the hotel well worth it.

above the din
This place is a perfect choice in Vernazza and in the Cinque Terre in general. The streets below are quite crowded with tourists, which can diminish the charm of the Cinque Terre experience, but since this place is situated a little higher on the hill, staying there helps to escape the crowds and recover the magic of the little seaside village. in our case, the train between the two southern most Terre was closed because of trail maintenance, so it turned out better to stay in Vernazza and hike to Corniglia and see the other cities by boat. The room itself is as basic as it comes, but fine for recovering after a day of hiking. It had a refrigerator and a fan and a good shower. We could hear the sound of the sea from the room at night, but unfortunately this was punctuated with the frequent trains passing by. This isn't the fault of the hotel, since the town is so small, there is no escaping the noise from the trains. The bar associated with the hotel is also quite beautifully situated and probably one of the best places to sit down for a meal in Vernazza. They don't open very early for breakfast (10:00, or else not at all if it is raining). But the markets and bakeries in the town open early (7 or 8 am), so it was nice to just get some breakfast items and enjoy them on our personal terrace in the morning.

The hotel lacks processes to operate well. They do not make beds, have extra towels while current ones are being cleaned, and have limited staff for questions/check out. I paid cash to ensure I could retain my passports. I could not find anyone for checkout, and got no receipt for my stay. The room was spacious, but kitchen light did not work. These things should be checked out prior to giving a room to someone. We would not stay there again.
