“Great location but musty rooms.”

My stay at the hotel was for 5 days and the room that I was checked into had a nauseating odor of dead rats and was extremely musty and humid,totally unfit for sale to any customer.The lobby area also had a strong musty smell.My request for a room change the next day was accomodated, but the hotel should not sell such rooms to customers in the first place. The location of the hotel is superb and unbeatable for all the touristic city sights. The lady staff at the reception during the day were very helpfull. The daily buffet breakfast was very good ,however the coffee machine was broken for 3 days and we had lousy cofee on those days.The staff in the breakfast room appeared unhappy when requested for fresh coffee. I would only stay in that hotel for its location.

Area recommendations
The neighbourhood around this hotel is fantastic,with Palace of the Popes and Pont d'Avignon within easy reach.River Rhone and the boat tours are nearby.The main city square(Hotel d'ville and restaurants and souvenir shops) are just a step away from the hotel.I would certainly recommend this area for a leisure tourist .
When to go
The entire month of July is superb as the weather is warm but not hot and clear blue skies daily.The Avignon Arts Festival starts on 15th July and ends on 31st July. This time is avoidable if you are not an arts buff but I enjoyed the atmosphere of performing arts around the city during this period.

“Great location, just 2 steps from all the action”

Nice hotel, attached to the parking garage. It's just at the end of the block where all the action is, so it's a little quieter.
