"Giuseppe goes above and beyond for first timers"
Upon our arrival to Hotel Relais dei Papi the gentleman at the desk was most hospitable. He recognize we hd jet lack and suggested we rest first. after our rest he sat down with us to help us plan our time in Rome. He is an excellent listener. After we talked he drew routes on a map of Rome. He basically used his knowledge of Rome to plan each day of our trip. He marked routes, must see sights and great places to eat. He was right on the mark. He at our request, contact with tourist guide for a trip to Naples and Pompeiea. We were not disappointed. I highly recommend Giuseppe and the Hotel Relais dei Papi.

"Nice hotel close to the city centre"
The room we stayed in was in another apartment block which was 1 minute down the road from the main hotel/reception. The building we stayed in had some old features, including an ancent wooden lift and marble stairs. There appeared to be residents living in the block so our hotel only had a few rooms available here. This was not a problem as there are plently of secure doors/gates. The room itself was clean and the decor included some old-fasioned touches. The bathroom was modern and very clean. The only thing we noticed was that unless we opened the windows in the room, there was a lingering musty smell. This was probably from the drains and wasn't so bad that an open window couldn't sort out. The other thing is that there is little natural light in the room. Given that most buildings in Rome appeared the same, I think this would be universal, so no real reason to turn a room down at Belides H.R. Breakfast was served at the main hotel block but this wasn't a problem since we were only 1 minute down the road. Breakfast was of a high standard: cereal, toast, fresh croissants/cake, yoghurts, fruit. Breakfast staff were attentative and friendly but also left you in peace to enjoy your food. Our hotel was close to the city centre but a little out the way of the main tourist areas. We were able to walk to the Vatican in 10-15 minutes. We had a good choice of restaurants and cafes to eat in the area that did not have that 'tourist trap' feel.

"Secret Gem!"
When we pulled up at the hotel my boyfriend looked lost, we arrived early on a Sunday and the front door to hotel was closed and other than a little plaque on the side, it could've been anywhere. That feeling was short-lived and after we got shown our room and given a map of the local area, we quickly set off to go and explore! The hotel is perfectly located and although we had no real view it wasn't an issue, nor was the road noise as by 8pm most of the city hustle and bustle dies down on the road, but even so, our room had double glazed windows and the traffic was not a worry- I feel i need to mention this as so many others have mentioned it and it did nearly put me off, this and not having a view. Again, there was so much to see and do during the day, that at night all we wanted to do was sleep. Joe liked the bed so much, that his convinced himself we need a new one :) The staff were super helpful and very friendly; nothing was too much to ask for. Although advertised as a hotel, I think it should be advertised as a B&B as they only serve breakfast and reception is only manned until from about 7am-7pm. Overall, a great stay in a very cool and quirky hotel and we'll gladly stay there on my next visit, this was most certainly a great first introductory to the city and the warm hospitality of its people.

"Modern hotel, good location for Vatican"
We recently visited Rome and stayed at this hotel for 4 nights, mainly to take a 90 year old lady to see the Vatican and for an audience with the Pope. We had 2 double rooms, next door to each other on the first floor. The hotel has a modern interior and although 'boutique' in style, the rooms very comfortable and well equipped (apart from items detailed later). The important factor for us was that it was wheelchair friendly, which a lot of Rome isn't. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The breakfast, which was included, was of Continental style, with a good choice of food. We did eat in the restaurant on our last night, which was disappointing, as their choice was limited, description of what we expected was different to what we got and there was no wine list, just 3 red wines to choose from. It is conveniently located to visiting many attractions, Hop on hop off bus tours and Vatican within walking distance (tip follow the tram lines to the right to get there). We also visited Piazza Navona by taxi, which cost 10 Euro each way for 3 of us, to give you an idea of how much to travel that way. The Metro and tram is also very close. Overall I would recommend this hotel, if you want a quiet location that is out of the hustle and bustle of the main city.

"We enjoyed our stay here"
We made a two-night, three-person-room reservation at this hotel because of price and location considerations. The facility and staff are very nice and the location is near Vatican City and public transportation. Our room was comfortable and the breakfast-included was very good. We truly enjoyed our stay here.

Pocket Guide: Rome Vatican - Prati Hotels

The world's smallest country, Vatican City is dominated by St Peter's, Christendom's largest church. Michelangelo's humbling 'Pietà' and his Sistine Chapel ceiling frescos are among the world's greatest works of art. The Aurelio area is named after the ancient Via Aurelia, the main road that connected Rome with Spain, and is convenient for visiting the city's sights.
