"Wonderful relaxing stay. Well appointed house and responsive and helpful hosts (who promptly responded to a message and dropped off a bit more wood for the fire). We really enjoyed the grounds, birdsong and quiet (no traffic noise) and log burner for the chilly weather. Will recommend to others."

"The view is beyond belief.. stunning. So is the environment. It was backed up by a level of care and attention to detail that many could learn from. The rooms were warm (important for folk used to a warm climate ). The bed was super comfortable, there were lots of pillows, extra covers.. There was a good coffee machine. Everything worked. There were well written instructions to everything. Would highly recommend."

"Wonderful unique home within the forest. Lovely comfortable home to enjoy no matter the weather, relaxing, and so enjoyable listening to the birds (the dawn chorus echoing through the forest was outstanding), the night sky was out of this world. Thank-you for the opportunity to experience this wonderful place."

"We greatly enjoyed our stay in the cottage in the country. It is well appointed for self catering with kitchen facilities that include a full oven and dishwasher. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom has a bath with shower over it. There was a stereo, a selection of books to read and a DVD player....this was useful as we had taken some films to watch as television viewing is the Freeview channels. The cottage is in a lovely garden setting and my husband had a good view of the stars at night...

"This is a special place settled in a lovely garden with trees and birds in abundance. The cottage is homely; warm on a cold day and fitted out comfortably with everything needed for a relaxing and enjoyable visit. Mary and Jim are welcoming, gracious and interesting hosts. We hope to return soon!"

"100m away from the mt somers general store, 2 minutes drive from the stavely store, not far from methven. close to the hakatere conservation park and right next to mt somers walkway. the house was very comfortable and beautifully cosy and equipped."
